Misheard Lyrics Stories:

"Heartache Tonight"
Misheard Lyrics:
It’s gonna be Harding tonight.
Original Lyrics:
There’s gonna be a heartache tonight.

Story about this misheard lyric by: George Cooper

It sounded like he was referring to Warren G. Harding making a Speech that night and singing with them in the 1920s. Calvin Coolidge would probably sing with them as well. If you listen to the parts when he says “Heartache Tonight”, it really sounds like he’s saying “Harding Tonight”. It’s still fun to pretend that they were singing at a Concert together in the 1920s. Lol!

Song Parody Fragments:

"Lyin' Eyes"
Better Lyrics:
There ain't no way to hide your flyin;' eyes. [alluding to the animated series "Gravity Falls," in which there is a deadly force of large winged eyeballs whose gaze can turn people to stone. There is an evil character to whom the message is directed; that he cannot conceal these fearsome beings.]
Original Lyrics:
There ain't no way to hide your Lyin' Eyes
Submitted by: Doug Montgomery
"Lying Eyes"
Better Lyrics:
You can't escape

Socialist lies

Joe's crooked smile

Just can't disguise

We thought by now

That our countrymen realize

You can't escape the

Socialists' prying eyes
Original Lyrics:
You can't hide your lyin' eyes

And your smile is a thin disguise

I thought by now you'd realize

There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes

Songs That Open With Their Titles:

"I Wish You Peace"
Opening Lines:
I wish you peace when the cold wind blows, Warmed by the fire's glow.
Comments:
"I Wish You Peace" is yet another song from the Eagles' "One Of These Nights" lp. After the success of "One Of These Nights" some creative differences would shake up the band's membership (although main principles and vocalist, Don Henley and Glen Frey would stay with the band), most noticably Joe Walsh going solo (and succesfully at that). The revamped group would come back in the fall 1976 with the multi-million dollar seller lp, "Hotel California" which would produced the #1 singles, "Hotel California" and "New Kid In Town" as well as the #3 hit, "Life In The Fast Lane" and the top twenty hit, "Victim Of Love". This same group would also release another multi-million dollar hit lp, "The Long Run" which would not only produce the top five title tune, but also the #1 hit, "Heartache Tonight", and the top ten hits, "I Can't Tell You Why", "In The City" and "Those Shoes". The Eagles also firmly established themselves as a Classic Rock and Classic Hits artist for all time. But shortly after the success of "The Long Run", in 1980, the Eagles announced to the world their breakup and both Don Henley and Glen Frey would have successful solo careers well into the 1990's (Henley would also gain notarity for his liberal and environmental views and working for and giving financially to liberal and environmental political causes and candidates). The Eagles' would reform (the late 1970's version, minus Joe Walsh) in the mid-1990's for another lp, and several brief tours.
