The Lyrics

I've finally gotten the guts to tackle this song, after being challenged to do so a long time ago (thanks for nothing, Jack). 'Tis 'bout a Transformer who has reformatted (changed alt form) so many times he's, well, been everything. Enjoy!
I was working real hard, making sure the base was safe from all attacks
When along came Bluestreak and he said "Mate, you look kinda sad!"
"How 'bout you gain a brand new alt form? That old one's got some rust!"
But then I said that wouldn't work, he said "What - has something gone bust?"
He asked me "Is it your transforming cog? I've spares with me!"
And I said "Listen! I've been ev'ry alt form in this galaxy!"

I've been everything, man
I've been everything, man
Vehicle or beast, man
I've been each one of those, man
I'm out of alt form ideas, man
I've been everything

I've been a:
Pick-up
Fire truck
Hilux
Toy'ta Supra
F-16
DeLorean
Green Jeep
Mustang Cobra
Land Rover
Dragster
Freightliner
Lamborghini
Mazda
Lancia
Rocket car
Mitsubishi
Fuso
Diablo
Porsche Turbo
Helicopter
Sports Jeep Wrangler
Sub' Impreza
Red Dodge Viper
B-2 bomber

I've been everything, man
I've been everything, man
Ev'ry vehicle, man
And ev'ry animal, man
I've got nothing left to be, man
I've been everything

Became a:
Warthog
Bullfrog
Old dog
Flying squirrel
Hyena
Cobra
Cheetah
Tassie Devil
Gorilla
Cicada
White tiger
Pterodactyl
Lion
Bison
Scorpion
Hairy mandrill
Bald eagle
Stag beetle
Brown weevil
Fire ant
Grey rat
Giant bat
Fiddler crab
This sucks ass

I've been everything, man
I've been everything, man
Non-moving objects, man
Lit'rally ev'ryTHING, man
How long's this going to take, man?
I've been everything

I've scanned a:
Battery
TV
CD
Telegraph pole
Dishwasher
Clothes washer
Man washer
Game console
Xbox
Old stocks
Pair o' socks
Spike's PC
Hackysack
Golden plaque
Railroad track
DVD
Camera
Model car
Scungy sofa
Pair o' loafers
Work office lift
No more shape-shifts
You catch my drift?*

I've been everything, man
I've been everything, man
It just gets to me, man
I'm at the end of my rope, man
Why don't you give me a hand, man?
I've been everything

I've been a:
Sports car
Foreign car
Off-road car
Motorcycle
4x4
Hard floor
Steel door
Unicycle
Bomber plane
Fighter plane
Wooden cane
Stamford Local
Coal train
Bullet train
Steam train
Old bifocals
Rusty gate
Train of freight
A-house-owned-by-Kate
Rubber tire
Flat tire
Monster tires
Truck tires
I'M tired

I've been everything, man
I've been everything, man
Go get Optimus, man
And Ratchet just while you can, man
'Cuz I might do myself in, man
I've been everything

I've been everything
Hopefully not too esoteric for youse. *I thought there was a line missing when I read these lyrics.. But then I listened to the OS, and it was right. So there!

Wow! That's the first new parody of that song I've seen here!

I liked the fact it got weirder as it went on bobpie (Rusty gate? lol) but my fave triplet for some reason was "Bald eagle Stag beetle Brown weevil" - great idea - great execution - 555

Nice job on pulling this one off. Just in time for the new Transformers movie as well, a job well done.

SOTM - Here are some 5s and I hope they don't transform themselves to 1s.

(SOTM) Transformers fans will probably quibble with the lyrics, but this was fun in a surreal way.
Below Average Dave - July 10, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) You know, I've never been a huge transformer guy, but this one makes me want to watch the movie. . .um, what impressed me here was that you paced beautifully on such a difficult song. . .I mean, it was funny and fitting the car names, and then the inatimate electronics, neat idea about a topic you clearly are devoted to. . .I am impressed.

I just saw the movie. It was amazing, and so is this parody

Mega555 with Prime.

Thought I commented first time around - the vote didn't take, so I must have voted. This OS seems to lend itself to this sort of parody - high-intensity with some laughs scattered through :-D
Jason - July 28, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Excellent!
McKludge - July 28, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) OS moves so fast I can't tell if your pacing is right or not, so you get the benefit of the doubt.
Cat - July 28, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I think this one was accessible for non-Transformers fans...well, I liked it a lot! A great smorgasboard of transformations, and I cracked up at "Man washer." So goofy.
stuart mcarthur - July 30, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) see above - liked this one, and this time "helicopter" struck me as funny, the way it just popped up unexpectedly - you're almost venturing into wannabemj's territory here too, seth - 555
Jeff Reuben - July 30, 2007 - Report this comment
Creative idea, and well timed. I really liked this one.

SOTM - A pleasant surprise seeing someone besides me writing a parody at least partially about cars!
Kristof Robertson - July 31, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Great stuff, bobpie....timely, funny and well constructed. Nice splodges of absurdity also added; bravo! 555

re 'I'VE BEEN EVERYWHERE' origional singer was LUCKY STARR not Johnny CASH..this song was written by an australian for australian performer LUCKY STARR
Below Average Dave - January 26, 2009 - Report this comment
Terry--That is irrelevant, the style that Conqueror has chosen to parody was Johnny Cash's, it is completely ligitimate to parody a cover or style different from the original, I don't care for Lucky Starr's version--so I wouldn't parody it myself, I'd choose Johnny Cash as an original performer--the choice not to use the original performer is not because one may not know who it is, so please consider thinking before correcting someone.
Above Average Nelson - March 28, 2009 - Report this comment
Below Average Dave--That is irrelevant, what you just commented that is. I mean wow. Hats off the the guy for doing this parody, and also to Terry for knowing the original artist. If Johnny can make something like that himself, hats off to him too. Dave, bit'o shhhh now k. thanks.
Red Ant - March 28, 2009 - Report this comment
Great work, pieman. Nice flow and rhyme scheme going on here.

To Terry and Nelson: from the parody submission page:

Original Performer Name: Who did the version you're parodying.

So Johnny Cash is correct. Conqueror is from Australia, so I'm fairly sure he knows the original song is by an Aussie.
Below Average Dave - March 28, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks Ant, sorry Nelson but I won't shhh for anyone but my mother, and it is relevant if people are going to come onto a site and make a comment about someone's parody insisting that the original artist is "insert name" not the one they chose to parody.
bobpiecheese - March 28, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks for backing me up, Dave and Jack. And Jack, I never knew the original song was sung by an Aussie, so now I know. And knowing is half the battle!
