Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

"Thing" as in "a thing that exists" and "a synonym for trend". Behold Captain Out-Of-Touch!
Oh-ooh-oh-ooh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

I don't know which Tu-umblrs I should follo-ow
Cause that's what all the kids do these days
At least I think so, I'm no-ot quite sure, okay?
In trends I tend to lag be-ehind
I'm not caught up on the current sto-ories
Harry Potter's the last book I read
How can someone be that out of touch for so long?
But it's the way I happen to fail

I'm vaguely aware of superhe-eroes
Some of them have shows aired on TV
Not sure if they're a pre- or se-eque-ue-uel
Cause I only think that that's a-a thing

So many things have escaped my no-otice
I can only guess what's cool or not
Is Silento popular with youths, is he hated?
Finger's crossed for the latte-er, true-ue

I've heard of a show that's titled He-eroes
That got it's own sequel recently-y
Is that a hit with other peo-eopl-l-le?
Or did I just dream that it's a thi-ing?

My pop-culture knowledge's not qui-uite ze-ero
But I can see how you'd think that, because really-y
I have not heard "Here Comes The Sun" by The Bea-eatle-es
I'm only aware that that's a-a thing
Just vaguely awa-a-a-are tha-at that's a-a thing

Oh, I think that that's a-a thi-i-i-ing
True, dude, who knew that G.I. Joe was a-a thi-ing?
I, I, I did not, just didn't catch my-y eye-eye
Oh-oh dude, it's true, I don't know lots o-of thi-ings
Oh-oh dude, it's true, I don't know that the-ey're thi-ings
I, I do try to search online
For why-y these things just pass me by
Bu-ut dude, I-I'm blue
Ev'ry-yone who I ask just starts mo-ocking

For what it's worth, I'm not as behind on pop culture as the singer in the parody, but all the examples I used are true for me (the only one with an excuse is "I don't think G.I. Joe could've been a thing in Australia when it's tagline was "A Real American Hero" but I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong").

I Bette I'm more behind on modern pop culture than you are! there's a number of popular tv shows I have yet to see! (I'm more into classics myself) 5's
