The Lyrics

This is what happens when American-centric TV gets broadcast to an Australian audience, and said audience isn't entirely happy.
Kinda mad
Holiday specials on the TV
They annoy me
All these eps about this "Thanksgiving"
Irritate me
We don't have that here
In this Down Under Land

Seems to be no end
To these turkey-filled shows
This message I send
To the TV schmoes
Who keep making this drek

I am telling you
We don't have this holiday
Confusing for us Australians, mate
Episodes like these are boring
Could you kindly - STOP IT

Really mad
When in July there's all
This Independence bullshit
Sentiment's not bad
But I'm not a Yank, dipstick
I just cannot give a shit
About that

There might be a way
To make this crap better
Just change the air date
Background flags, voila!
It's Australia Day!

But I'll bet that you
Will keep all your holidays
Won't pander to the Down Under fanbase
No, I'll bet that you'll keep hawking
Stuff for Yankees - STOP IT

(This semi-edutainment bores me)

TV guys
There's one thing that above everything
That really bugs me
It's when the Christmas specials are all
Filled up with snow, that irks me
Here it's so hot I've melted
Out my eyes

And don't dare you say
That your shows cool me down
Never happens, mate
If it did, then wow
But until then, I'll say

I'm pissed off at you
We don't have these holidays
If we do, they're just not the exact same
You can tell it's real annoying
Cause I'm angry

I'm so mad at you
When you flog your holidays
Though I know that this is kinda pointless
It's just kinda therapeutic
All this yelling

Just cut it out
With all the Yank holidays

(Indecipherable muttering)
I HATE snow-filled Christmas specials when I'm melting my balls off. Almost as much as I hate country music.

Clever :) You need to educate us on some Australian holidays!

The only reason I know this original song is because I've heard Spaff's parody of it. While his is dark and messed up yours is a lot more sarcastic and pissed off. Not bad but being a Yank I gotta say quit your b*tchin' and make some good Aussie TV shows so we need to deal with your holidays.

Matthias. . .he can't control what our selfish American execs choose to show on TV. . .in fact--the American television stations have become so similar, I haven't been a regular TV watcher since. . .well--on second thought--I've ALWAYS hated TV. . .anyway, pacing wasn't as tight as I would like, but I understand your pain, even if I haven't had to deal with it directly

Good one... with all the American pop-culture that's catching on, Australia, Canada and the UK are becoming the 51st, 52nd and 53rd states before Puerto Rico, Guam and the US Virgin Islands have a chance. :D

(Artistry) Clever idea!

(Artistry) Love the stuff you've been pumping out recently, and this is no exception. I never even thought about Australians having to deal with American TV - I just figured you had your own shows 24/7. Maybe I'll write a script for an Anzac Day show (and have Matthias produce it).

(ABC) Well, how about a 555 holiday down under? great job. Maybe we can both celebrate this one: http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/traditional11.shtml

I love being an American and forcing our traditions and holidays down other countries throats.

Not a huge fan of the OS (or country music in general), but this was a nice idea that went well with the OS. Nice work!

(ABC) Mutual respect between countries and their traditions has always been something I try very hard to keep. Good job, TCOP! Thanks for edumacating us! LOL!

(ABC) Country is definately not my style, but this was certainly cool, and fun.
