Parody Song Title:

"Goering had a Brother Too"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Dedicated to my brother Roger Arndt who taught me about Albert Goering over dinner one night... Albert Goering is seldom discussed, but under the Nazi regime he was a tough Anti-Nazi that defied them openly to the point of dangerous confrontations that could have had him killed. Unlike his elder brother Hermann, who was a leading party member, Albert Goering despised Nazism and the brutality that it involved. He publically disgraced both the Gestapo and the SS, challenging them openly with no fear. He saved his former boss Oskar Pilzer and smuggled him and his family out of Germany along with other dissidents and Jews. At the Skoda Works he encouraged sabotage and worked with the Czech resistance. He used labor as an excuse to free Jews into the wild using trucks. He never backed down and no one had the guts to threaten his life b/c he was Hermann Goering's brother. A real hero of WW2...
Goering had a brother too
against the regime

Albert never stopped helping the Jews
There’s no denyin’
Nuremberg Trials testifyin’

The Gestapo just couldn’t stand it
Albert runnin’ around
Forging documents, saving lives
Saved his former boss, got him out of town

Goering had a brother too
against the regime
Anti-Nazi supreme

He saved Jews
He saved Jews
He saved Jews
He saved Jews somehow
SS? He didn’t care
Too many lives to spare
Worked with the Czech underground

F--k the Nazis
Goering had a brother too
against the regime

Somewhat reminiscent of another notorious historical figure's sibling: John Wilkes Booth's brother Edwin Booth, who saved one of Abraham Lincoln's sons from being crushed by a train by hauling him back up onto the platform from which he had tumbled.

Rob: You should write a book like I am with all these SJH parodies in it, mine has all my current parodies in it and is in .pdf format. :-) But Congrats, on this parody too, another one for your record "books" ;-) 555!

Indeed a forgotten hero.

Red Son, thanks for that info. It's nice to have fun with the song parodies but also to learn from them as well. I like to share info, so most of my songs have historical data or current events data (as well as the Third Reich material that I am known for)...

Rob... I haven't voted on this one yet - or (you may or may not have noticed) any of your Screamin' Jay Hawkins parody songs. This is because I want to make sure I'm voting from a fair viewpoint. I've been playing the Screamin' Jay Hawkins version of this song along with all of your relevant parodies - and I'm afraid I have to confess that each time I've had real trouble trying to tally your lyrics with what it sounds like he's singing. THIS COULD BE MY FAULT; I am actually hearing-impaired, and while most of the time that's not a problem when it comes to listening to music, there are some artists whose voices I find difficult to separate from the backgound music. SJH is possibly one of them. Is it definitely the Screamin' Jay Hawkins version of the OS I should be listening to for pacing? Is there a specific performance of it that I should be listening to? Please don't be offended - I ask because I'd like to leave feedback for you, but I genuinely don't want to give you an unfair vote just because I'm listening to the wrong OS or not hearing it properly.

Wendy you can ding me on the pacing and still give me a 5 if you liked the material or learned from it and whatever number overall that you feel 1-5. Your vote will always be appreciated no matter what. I use the SJH song to teach most of the time. Have fun :-D

Nice work on someone I never knew about. Rob, keep up the good work :-D

Ditto what Wild Child said - I can imagine you must have enough SJH parodies to fill a pretty substantial book by now! It's good to know that even the Nazis had decent relatives; an interesting history lesson well told and much appreciated :^)

I read somewhere that Goering had a nephew who flew bombers for the USAAF in WWII. During training he would like to freak out the air traffic controllers by speaking to them in German.
