The Lyrics

This is about the Me-163 during WW2, the world's only operational rocket fighter in history with a top speed of 600 mph (fastest operational fighter of WW2) and a phenomenol climb of 16,000 fpm only bettered by the Ba-349 Natter at 32,000 fpm, but which did not become operational. The Komet also had the highest ceiling of 54,000 ft, but shortest duration of only 8 mins on rocket power. The major problem with this fast point-defense interceptor was that it used binary liquid rocket fuels that tended to explode with vibration and eat LW pilots alive unless they wore protective suits. A more advanced version, the Me-263, was in prototype stage. This got rid of the landing skid in favor of conventional gear, elongated the fuselage, added a cruise chamber for longer enduance (up to 1 hr/15 mins powered), and new canopy. The Soviets captured this and developed it into their experimental MiG I-270...
Faster than the Me-262
Watch the Komet climb

16,000 feet per minute zoom
USAAF ain’t lyin’
Rocket interceptor flyin’

To 39,000 ft and drop to target
MK-108s tearin’ through
B-17s and B-24s hit badly
Escorts, spot the bandit, we need you

Faster than the Me-262
Watch the Komet climb
Record time

Gliding through
Gliding through
Gliding through
Gliding through, got down
Skid deployed
Pray for no hard landing
Fuel explosion heard LOUD!!!

“Rocket-powered Flea”
Faster than the Me-262
Watch the Komet climb
(problem was survivability)

Oh for Godssakes, these SJH parodies are for teaching. I'm not going for perfect and as a parody author take the liberty of adding or subtracting the number of words or syllables. I've never even heard this song but it makes a good base song to teach about history and aviation... most people don't really care about the pacing...
