This offering is another of my karaoke improvs fleshed out for amiright. One evening, I spotted a lady wearing a shirt emblazoned with the familiar pointy-hatted figure and the cute slogan "To Gno-me Is To Love Me." This is not particularly profound, but give me a break - I'm not "Gnome Chomsky"! ;D

Oh, there's no race like gnomes in the universe.
It's re-corded in long-forgotten tomes.
So I'll state it succinctly in this music verse:
In the world there are no finer folks than gnomes!

These little folks can live four hundred years. They're less than one foot tall.
All the males smoke pipes and have such lengthy beards.
Oh how the gnomes do love to celebrate - to dance and have a ball!
And because a gnome is hairy - can't mistake one for a fairy!

Oh there's no race like gnomes in mythology.
They wear high pointy hats upon their domes.
They love nature and practice sound ecology.
May your gardens and your woods have lots of gnomes.

The gnomes have few natural enemies - just goblins and the trolls.
With mankind - they are retiring and quite shy.
But yet within the cosmic scheme of things - they play their helpful roles.
They're like happy little people. Each one's hat looks like a steeple!

Oh there's no race like gnomes in the universe.
If you're good, in your yard they'll make their homes.
So I'll say it quite flowery instead of terse:
In the world there are no finer folks than gnomes!

"Be they ever so humble, there's no folks like gnomes." ;D

This is one of those "I Wish the original song was longer" moments, because I like what you did with this, wish it were longer, but hey for its time, this was a normal length song. Perry Como is one of my favorite artists of the pre-modern era, so good job.

There's "gnome" man like Old Man Ribber to spice up the gnome's holidays! I used to own garden gnomes in my backyard...guess they must be away on 'holiday'! LOL!! I can imagine the gnomes around Christmas trees and displayed as decorations as well. Here's some short and sweet 5's!

Sorry, I always got those two confused, mostly because I disagree with both on a lot of issues. Pretentious snobs with little useful to say. Thanks for the correction, and great pun, again, on the name.
