The Lyrics

These are what Pat Tillman was. How dare the military lie about how he died to make themselves look good! How dare they!
Oh, they've got no time for glory in the Infantry
Oh, they've got no use for praises loudly sung
But in every soldier's heart in all the Infantry
Burns the name, burns the name of Pat Tillman

Burns the name, Pat Tillman!
Fought and died for a cause that was a sham
To the everlasting abuse of the Infantry
Lives the story of Corp'ral Pat Tillman

In confusion fought a squad of US Marines
Assault rifles against machine guns in the gloom
Caught in confusion as this one American Marine
Got teamkilled, got teamkilled and met his doom

Got teamkilled, Pat Tillman!
Fought and died for a cause that was a sham
In the everlasting annals of the Infantry
Burns the last breath of Corp'ral Pat Tillman

It was he who took the fire of some allied guys
Who were firing away blindly in fright
Then dying in Iraq to be the subject of lies
Lay the man, lay the man we hail tonight

In a cemetery somewhere in the US
Stands a simple gray tombstone to tell
That beneath the flattened grass of the USA
Sleeps a man, sleeps a man left to Hell

Sleeps a man, Pat Tillman!
Fought and died for a cause that was a sham
In the everlasting spirit of the Infantry
Goes the spirit of Corp'ral Pat Tillman

No, they've got no time for glory in the Infantry
No, they've got no use for praises loudly sung
But in every soldier's heart in all the Infantry
Burns the name, burns the name of Pat Tillman

Burns the name, Pat Tillman!
Fought and died for a cause that was a sham
To the everlasting abuse of the Infantry
Lives the story of Corp'ral Pat Tillman
Semper Fi, dude.

this deserves better than a rating of one's and I would think that the person who rated this would at least have the common decency to put his or her name out there.

Pat Tillman was an Army Ranger, not a Marine, and he was killed in Afghanistan, not Iraq. But why let details get in the way.

I Think the song is great,Because it shows respect for the man( men) who have died in battle.

Really, that was quite pathetic. Like the previous commenter stated the author of this parody could not even get the simple facts straight, yet (s)he doesn't hesitate to criticize the entire military including those who fought with Tillman. It shows no respect, or decency and even manages to disservice the original song which is about the hardships and sacrafices of the regular infantryman. It was supposed to be above politics and a shining example of courage. Tillman's death was a tragedy but it stands independant of the cause itself and friendly fire occurs whether the "cause" is good or "a sham." I had the privledge of being in Pat's Basic Training battalion (he was B 1/19 and I was E) and he was a hell of a man. This parody is a juvenile attempt, and bears no resemblance to any real events.
