Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Whiny Crabby People"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Whiny crabby people moaning
Talking much too loud, creep-o, creep-o
Throw your weight around, eat me, eat me
Putting people down, crabby crabby
Hearing such a sound
The downers groan
Groan and whimper, whine

Whiny crabby people, wringing hands
Whiny crabby people sing in bands
Whiny crabby people nagging
Everyone around
Screw them, screw them
Driving in their vans, make it, break it
There is time to cry, crabby crabby
Put it where the sun never ever shines
Groan and whimper, whine

Whiny crabby people wringing hands
Whiny crabby people, Klu Klux Klans
Whiny crabby people moaning
(Oh, here we go again!...)

Whiny crabby people wringing hands
Whiny crabby people ruling lands
Whiny crabby people moaning
Whiny crabby people wringing hands
Whiny crabby people wash bedpans
Whiny crabby people moaning...

Was this inspired by REM not wanting to put 'Shiny Happy People' on their 'In Time' best of because they want to be seen as a serious band? Good stuff!

Thanks for the compliment. No, it was just written as a comical response to the subject matter of the original song. I hate people like that, too. :)

I too though this was about the song at first, but I see it isn't. Still, great work here Agrimorfee. 5s

I like the twist on the topic here because this tune has always been so sappy and crappy and I'm glad you were able to turn it on it's head. This was an old one from you released back during the year my sister was born but still a good one.

REM Artistry: Was going to say what Matthias said! The first bit, not the second - my sisters were born in 1955 and 1957! Enjoyed the turnabout. Laughed at Mark's comment above as well :)

(Artistry) I think you could have done more with this one, Agri; a couple of times it moved off in a more humorous direction, but then stumbled. Not one of your better ones. (Or maybe the parody just reminded me too much of my mother... ) ;)

"Whiny crabby people ruling lands" -- you got that right. It's the "complain loud enough and you'll rise to the top" theory.

(Artistry) I agree with Merry, this isn't one of your better works. I think the shortness and simplicity of the OS really worked against you here. Interesting concept (I love parodies that turn the original on it's head) but just a bit lacking, IMO.

Well. . .it accomplished its goal. . .have to admit that it didn't really catch me. . .
