Parody Song Title:

"Plush"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

men will go to great lengths to impress a girl. Sometimes these "lengths" can stem from the tiniest of things, but end up getting way out of hand; crane machines for example.
Verse 1: She said, “No man I’ve known has ever been good enough.”
It’s a little bit tricky
Well, I think this game is really rigged
And I don’t know if I’d ever want crappy stuff
But this girl’s so pretty!
So I’m gonna be the guy who wins
Then I get a little angry
Hey! Drag it over!
No, not there…
Guess I’ll have to buy one more round…
Would you close, please?!
Who’s got change? Yeah…
Yeah, this chick will be wooed

Chorus: I’ll grab that plush toy this round
Yeah I will, yeah I will!
Maybe that plush blue clown
But I fail, yeah I failed
She don’t want flowers or candy
She thinks plush toys are dandy
So I will, I will…
I failed…

Verse 2: She said, “I would love if a guy could win that for me.”
It’s a little pink monkey
Then I find I’ve spent more than I’m worth, oh
And I don’t know why I didn’t just buy the thing
I wasn’t thinking too clearly
Man that face got me to spend all my dimes
Feel like that hefty green donkey
Wait, see that crane there?
It’s just mocking me…
Cuz I’ve been cheated, I’ve been wronged
And who, who’ll bankroll me?
Yeah well just some change…
Then I watch these plush toys start to fall

Chorus: I’ll win those plush toys this round
But I failed, I won zilch!
I want to push it down
And I will, watch it spill!
I’ll break it open with rackets
Yeah, but that’s “destruction of assets”
Yeah, in jail, I will

Bridge: Oh, when I’m out in Rikers
I get a package and I tore it right apart
This chick is crazy! Crazy!
What is this baby?!
A plush toy baby!
Baby!

Chorus: These cons pass plush toys around
They will steal, they will steal
If you don’t pass it down
They will kill, they will kill!
So I will ask you a question
Please, please, please
Will you bring more toys next, session!
Well? Yes you will?

Outro: Yes you will!
I’ll live, I’ll live, I’ll live…
Won’t be killed!
I’ll live, I’ll live, I’ll live…
That’s a nice clown…
Now they won’t push around…
No, they still will…

I couldn't follow what was going on here until verse2. Then later, the climactic twist just kinda comes out of left field--so, the cons at Riker's are trading plush toys for currency instead of cigarettes? Ultimately, I think the structure of the song worked against you here in telling a thoroughly funny story here.

As much as I wanted to love this, the twist ending was a bit too much of a twist. Seemed totally random and didn't really add much to the story. Now, if it would have continued with the guy spending his entire life savings (in quarters) to win a stuffed animal, that would have been enough of a joke to carry through the parody. Either way, this was a funny spoof that went well with the OS.

(Artistry) As much as I love twists in parodies, the twist in this one kinda made the whole thing collapse in on itself. The premise had such promise, but this parody kinda left me cold in that regard. Sorry, B-Man, but I just couldn't click with this one.

Very good pacing as usual Blayde. Funny theme, and good jokes. I would have no clue how to parody this OS, so well done there. Liked the "No, they still will..." line at the end.

I got it from the beginning (maybe because I've been to so many boardwalks and fairs recently), and I really enjoyed that. The ending, like others have alluded, felt like a different song added on.

I loved this idea a lot! It reminds me of a scene on How I Met Your Mother that was really sweet and touching and then they made fun of that sweet and touching scene in a later episode which is why I love that show and I'm sad that it's going to be over soon. This was a fun parody about a topic I haven't seen parodied too many times other than appearing in Spongebob as well.

I get the feeling since things can get bent out of shape in the end.
