Song Parodies -> "Soviet Gruel"

Original Song Title:

"I Love You"

Original Performer:

Barney and the Backyard Gang

Parody Song Title:

"Soviet Gruel"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

Stalingrad for your average Russian worker...
Soviet gruel,
Sawdust bread, no meat,
Eating dogs, cats, and horses was a treat
Not the same for Russian troops,
Who ate Kasha* and wild game stews,
Factory workers were overworked and starving too!

Soviet gruel,
Food scarcity,
Germans mobile kitchens meant THEY ate decently
Foraging for food,
Russians ate tree bark and even roots,
The T-34s and small arms were a priority, NOT food!

No food delivery for you!

Women even cooked dead babies
As savages do...

6th Army surrendered
But they were healthier than you!
* grain porridge in various forms, and they also ate oily tinned fish when available

Any parody with "dead babies" in it gets my approval.

Some great subs here. "Sawdust bread no meat" for "You love me." "The T-34s and small arms were a priority, Not food" for "Wont you say you love me too." "German mobile kitchens meant THEY ate decently" for "We're one happy family." Then there's three lines at the end that aren't substitutes for anything This could be the worst example of pacing in the history of Amiright

As author I have the right to modify any OS to my liking. As long as it's singable, it's fine by me. Barney is easily adaptable and I have a large vocabulary. I don't care what you think PN. Ironic that you use a pseudonym with Nazi in it. This IS about Stalingrad. Too bad Hitler did not allow the 6th Army to withdraw. German troops lost around 250,000 while they butchered 1.2 million Red Army troops plus over 50,000 Soviet civilians. The city was wrecked. But the 91,000 that surrendered had eaten far better than any Soviet soldier or civilian despite the Luftwaffe low tonnage dropped daily during the battle. My title is a bit misleading as "gruel" is far better than what the Soviet swine ate.
