The Lyrics

This will likely be the only time I ever do a "political" parody because as I say in this one, I don't like anything I see and hear about politics. But perhaps, both lefties and righties can find some common ground in this little parody of mine...they can both hate it. :D
Right wing, Left too
Most the time, they all just boast and argue
No truth? Tell lies
Just for sake of their party line
Both spew garbage and it just makes me sick
It 'bout drives me crazy, all the pol-i-tics

A botch, they won't see
'Less it's the other guy, well, then it's sweet
It stinks, it's sin
The devisiveness, no one really wins
Pride and hatred, nothing ever gets fixed
It just drives me crazy, all the pol-i-tics

For votes, such crap
Screw both Republicans and Democrats
Always, push, shove
They've no hearts, don't want to love
Both are guilty, there's no one innocent
Guess what I'm saying's I hate pol-i-tics

Well, what are the chances of a ZZ Top parody being up as I wear my concert T right now?.....Who cares? Okay, the humor is VERY dry. There could be some pretty funny jokes in here about how crazy right wingers are, but anyway, yeah, the parody doesn't seem to address anything. It makes a passable song for a serious band though. I'll have to give it a 1 for humor. As for pacing, there only a few missteps, so I'll give it a 4 for pacing, and a fair enough 3 for the song overall. C'mon, get some right winger bashing jokes in there for me! :D

Thank you for the vote and comment CrazyCam. I think it was fair...and balanced, hehe.

Yep, politics can be very slippery! I rarely write a political parody due to the length of research. The only time I wrote one was for 2008's election with an obscure OS and artist. Anyways, great job, especially when expressing how you feel about politics. Not everyone is a fan. You have my vote...of 5's!

Does it ever strike you as ironic, Lee, that we hold politics and politicians in such contempt, while still believing that democracy is wonderful and needs spreading across the world? I've done *loads* of political parodies, and know exactly how you feel :-)
