I work as a civilian contractor for the Army in Afghanistan. Just wanted to relate my experiences, and Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again" was a perfect fit. It's a simple and catchy song, just ripe for parody. I'm sure "In Afghanistan" is not the first, nor will it be the last.

I really hate it in Afghanistan
The life I love is drinking beer out of a can
But I can't do that in Afghanistan

We live in tents and use a port-o-can

It sucks to be here in Afghanistan

You're quite right to say that it isn't the first time "On the Road Again" Indeed, it appears that yours represents the 100th time that this song has been done here. But all that means is that you have very good instincts -- it's a very good song to parody

Sorry I missed this yesterday. Liked the line about that "baked ham", I imagine it's just as popular over there as the beer. Never saw "moonscape" and "duct tape" rhymed before. Be careful, come home safe.
