Original Song Title:

"Centerfold"

Original Performer:

The J. Geils Band

Parody Song Title:

"My Men's Room Date's a Senator"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Humor me. Pronounce it "sen-a-TOR."
Concourse B? Concourse D?
Concourse S and M?
I like the airport men's rooms
'Cause they frequently have men

One guy sat beside me
And tapped my one-inch wall
We made a tight connection
In that tight airport stall

Weeks go by and there's my bathroom boyfriend on C-SPAN!
Ironic he's Republican - that ends with "public can"!

[CHORUS:]
I flush to score!
My hot spot is a cold tile floor!
My men's room date's a senator
(Men's room date's a senator)
My john's hardcore!
It's number two that I adore!
(Doo doo da doo doo doo)
My men's room date's a senator

First he peeked in through my door
While I pretended to go full-bore
I made faces I made sounds
But that just made him swoon

Soon he's in the next-door loo
Nudgin' me with his ortho shoe
Something made it clear to me
That we'd have congress soon

Who knows who's beside you?
This restroom game's a rush
How lucky I got dealt a queen
To help complete my flush!

[CHORUS]

It's okay, I understand
You're still a family values man
But if you blame your real wide stance
You must have ultra-stretchy pants

They'll make fun, yes they will
Let those bloggers mock us
But I'll stand up (or sit) for you
And help you with your caucus

The right wing should be proud, you know
You put the ho in Idaho
Oh no, don't let 'em spoil it
Oh yeah, I'll meet you in the toilet!

[CHORUS]

[Now whistle. It's a signal.]

Brilliant as usual, if not more so. Is Robert Lund going to record this for FUMP?

Another installment of "Republican Hypocrites Gone Wild!" By now, it must be installment number 5.

Heh, heh, heh... Re-"Public Can". That was hilarious as usual Spaff.
Claude Prez - August 29, 2007 - Report this comment
I always wondered what kind of weirdo would write such sick things on the walls. Figures it's a politician. Fantastic stuff, as always; now THIS is how you write a toilet parody.
Phil Alexander - August 29, 2007 - Report this comment
Can't simply record this, you have *got* to do a video...
alvin - August 29, 2007 - Report this comment
outstanding....especially liked the queen / flush line
Tommy Turtle - August 29, 2007 - Report this comment
What Matthias said... spotting the pun that was already there that no one else has seen makes this unique among the many on the topic.

You make it look SO dang easy, Spaff! This is a classic....more puns for your dollar than all today's other parodies put together. Bra-freakin-vo! 555+

Thank you for reminding us what congress is a synonym for. Excellent stuff, Spaff, particularly the Idaho line and the queen/flush couplet.

Wow, that is so funny on so many levels—packed full of double entendres and couldn't have picked a better OS. Spaff should teach courses in this, so weirdos like me the world over can gain enlightenment.

just fantastic - brilliant Spaff comic ideas seemingly out of nowhere, and bulletproof pacing that makes it a delight to read - 555

Incredible yet again, Spaff! ... With the bar set so high time and time again, the rest of us are, practically speaking, just fools in some perverse limbo contest. I think my last line in the following sums it up: http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/tomleherer0.shtml

Thank you, everyone. Y'all are too kind. I caught the messageboard discussion a while back about how it pays to vary parody choruses. I agree. The day the news broke, however, I swore I wouldn't go to bed until I had something written and submitted to Amiright. At 2:30 AM, I concluded that this is one of those occasions where it's a better artistic choice to repeat the chorus. Heh. Thanks for not holding it against me.

As for whether Robert Lund is going to record this, well, I sent it to him a week ago, and I stopped holding my breath a few days later. Because it hurt. He's working on a new CD of political material, however, so there's always a chance.

And I just gotta say: Comments from Claude Prez and Billy Florio?! I have to keep checking my clock because it must be 2003.

I think every parody you write is better than Al's best. Hope you have 2 dozen kids and teach them all your parody skills, so we can have that many more parodies to laugh at.
