The Lyrics

This is pretty selfish compared to the original song, talking about how there are starving people in Africa, and so of course I whine about my dentist appointment coming up... Inspired by Weird Al's "Cavity Search", also thanks to Billy Florio for last minute suggestions =)
It's almost time
I sit in a chair and wait
It's almost time
For the guy to pick my teeth with blades
And when I get a filling
I can hear the screaming drill
I am starting to get scared...
It's almost time!

I'll say a prayer
Pray for a fire alarm
The dentist might
Have forgotten to check his appointment card
There's an awful lot of fillings
That I need to get done today
Maybe if not for cavities
I wouldn't be here anyway
And the dentist's drill that screams
I have some words to say to you:
Well today thank God it's me, instead of YOU!

And there will be fluoride, floss and brushes to take home
But the greatest gift they'll give me is "goodbye"
Oh, where awful music plays, Michael Bolton's voice adds pain
Don't they know I'm suffering at all?

Gonna puke, from that awful fluoride rinse
It is grim, getting hit in teeth with that dumb dentist's pick
Do they know I'm suffering at all?

Let me rinse
Let me spit

Let me rinse
Let them know I'm suffering right here
Let me spit
Let them know I'm suffering right here

Thanks for everyone's comments! Jeff--"Cavity Search" by Weird Al is indeed the parody to "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" by U2. And he does a great job of it! And Billy... like I said before; be scared of your dentist

A brilliant song for all those who are scared of the dentist. I don't care what my dentist does to me as long as it doesn't involve a needle.
