The Lyrics

I heard the flounder shout
Its words were "Hey - take this hook out!"
I won't filet today
Call it morning driving motorboats at deep-sea fishing rallies

The slimy bait's the thing
That makes the flounder really cling
I'll throw them back today
Call it morning driving motorboats at deep-sea fishing rallies

In and around the bay
Dolphins jump out of the sea and they stand there
If you're overboard the Coast Guard rescues you
Spend your summer fishing here and laughing too
Twenty-four-foot squid my love you'll see - I'll share it with you

I will throw chum with you
Your bloody bait will be the food
Of every fish that's here
Call it morning driving fishing boats to even-up my tally

In and around the bay
Waterspouts drop from the sky and they stand there
If you're overboard no one will rescue you
Thunderstorms are coming and tornadoes too
Fire-up the engine now full-speed - Spin pro-pel-ler screws !!!

Here comes the swift stormcloud
The lightning flashing down on the sea

Pitching in swirling wind
My skipper looks for land hopefully

The lightning's flashing sting
Rotating whirl-wind spins crazily

Go faster - hold the wheel
Tornadic wind bears down violently

If we reach land in time
All my prayers answered shall surely be

Now from my deep-sea fears I flee
Surrounded by that flounder's tears

I heard the flounder shout
Its words were "Hey - take this hook out!"
I heard the flounder shout
Its words were "Hey - take this hook out!"

I heard the flounder shout
Its words were "Hey - take this hook out!"
I won't filet today
Call it morning driving motorboats at deep-sea fishing rallies

We ran aground, but hey ---
Sunshine broke out of the clouds, and there's land there
No more fear you'll need someone to rescue you
Made it through the storm and now we're laughing too
Twenty-four-foot squid looks so tasty - let's have sushi dude

Well you beat me! Twice. You'll see what I mean tomorrow. I wanted to be the first to do this song. This is why I slammed all my parodies on as fast as I could. I knew some wise guy like you would get there first if I didn't. Nice approach.

All right. We're "All Good People" here and it was "Your Move" You remind me of me. (Is that a good thing, you ask?) 5's!

Thanks Royce! I have a fond memory of a deep-sea fishing trip with my Dad off the coast of Maine. Fortunately we didn't encounter any tornadoes, waterspouts, or shouting flounders!

Ooops, I forgot to thank you too, Meriadoc! I agree with you...the original lyrics are cryptic at best and incomprehensible at worst.
