The Lyrics

Again, not funny, but I had the chance to meet some paraplegic people in a group home recently and this parody is about all of their feeling, hopes, dreams, frustrations, etc.
Well you can see that I dont use the stairs
I'm a crippled man and in this chair
Ran a red light it was a ford
Caused a crash, severed spinal cord

But it's alright, it's okay
Got a handicapped parking space
Please don't stare just understand
Atleast I can still use my hands
(chorus follows)
Whether it's you mother or maybe your brother
Their crippled for life, crippled for life
Everbody's sqwakin and everbody's mockin'
Cause I'm crippled for life
Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, he's crippled for life (x2)

Battery's low forgot to plug it in
Even with this chair I just can't win
Sometimes I feel sorry for myself
But I've been this way since age twelve

You know it's alright, it's okay
Stem cell research leads the way
And if you ever do meet me
Understand disability

Whether it's your mother or your brother they're
Crippled for life, crippled for life
Nobody says it because you're forced to sit
Crippled for life, crippled for life
Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, crippled for life
Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, crippled for life
I'm going nowhere, please recharge me
I'm going nowhere, please recharge me yeah

Now you can tell by the way I get around
I got a new ride from Hoveround
I feel truly bad for the quadraplege
Can't imagine that twice as bad as me

Getting better the doctors' say
Wiggled my big toe today
My therapist she has been
A close and caring friend
(repeat second chorus )

Maybe just maybe I won't be
Crippled for life, crippled for life
I'm not lazy but they think I'm crazy
Attempting to try, attemting to try
No, No, No, No, won't be crippled for life
No, No, No ,No, won't be crippled for life
Don't want you you to help me
I am still healthy yeah

Thought awakening. It's a bit uneasy the medium category is "How funny" instead of "How Witty".

Thank you Susanna. What people don't realize is that people with disabilities can share the same thoughts as the rest of us including misery, humor, hope, and even cruelty. One guy actually told me that he thanked God he wasn't quadraplegic and he could still use his hands. Also, afew of the people I met did complain about their chairs. Anyway, I can understand the 1 on funny but real life isn't always funny, but giving a 1 on pacing to me means "Way off base" or "I couldn't even recognize the original song". I would rate this as a 3 or 4 atleast, but some just tank you with 111 because they don't like the parody ( not saying that person was you).

BTW, just saw the parody of this song called "Slaying My Wife". Curious that a parody about murder is rated so much better than disabled people. I admit it's paced perfectly and funny as well so I gave it all 5's. Curious too that the site statistics list 60+% of viewers as women. I guess it's funny to think that YOUR husband may be thinking this.

In the choruses you keep missing a line of "crippled for life" out. Where you've written "Ha ha ha ha crippled for life (x2)" it should really be "Ha ha ha ha crippled for life, crippled for life (x2)". And what sort of sick bastard finds humour in taking the michael out of disabled/handicapped people? It's humour of the lowest form

I do not have this album/CD in my collection, so I had to use downloaded lyrics, which MANY times are NOT complete. Also, if you read the whole parody and the foreword/my comments you would get a better understanding of this parody. Handicapped people, I will say AGAIN, have the same feelings as the rest of us, including being ridiculed, sarcastic, and hopeful. PS- This pacing is not a 1 or a 5, but a 3. I don't care about funny most of the time, I care about TRUE FEELINGS, and the truth hurts. I said it wasnt funny in the foreword, but you might have missed that and the last few stanzas in the parody.
