The Lyrics

Inspired by VH-1's recent showing of Rod & Ronnie's Unplugged and my own lack of sleep.
Woke up baggy I think I’ve lost quite-a-lot-of-sleep this week.
It’s late this morning and I’m really looking like a tired geek.
You know I stayed-up-half-the-night, in the mirror I see morning fright.
Oh baggy eyes couldn’t have cried, anymore.
No cucumbers are in the fridge, no wrinkle cream can hide that ridge,
I look like hell and now I’m goin’ to work.

The morning sun, glaring in my face, really shows my age.
Problem is, now my crows feet, make me look like Jimmy Page.
I look like an ugly bloke, both my eyes puffed like chimney smoke.
Oh baggy eyes couldn’t have cried, anymore.
My beauty spa is closed today, no treatment with that sloppy clay,
I’ll wear sunglasses and pretend I’m Britney Spears.

All I needed was some sleep, to rest my weary eyes.
Now even my forehead is starting to resemble McDonald’s fries.
All I did was make my bed,
Now I’m looking like the walking dead.
Oh baggy eyes couldn’t have cried, anymore.
I scared away all the cats, even roaches and the midnight bats,
Please look away, I’m hideous to the bone.

I reckon I’ll invest in Botox, to straighten out my ugly face.
I’ll ask the doc for 3 injections or maybe 10, allow for space.
I’ll apply directly Collagen, then my nose and eyes will match my chin,
My baggy eyes wish they’d never seen my face.

I’ll be the first to make history,
With this awful, sleepless mystery,
Got a giant jar of Ambien by my bed.

Baggy, I wish I’d never seen my face.
I’ll get sleep one of these days.
