The Lyrics

[NOTE TO EDITORS: This is a resubmission of the version I submitted a few minutes ago, after I remembered I used an extended ASCII character in one of the French lines.] Satire on two legs. Dedicated to... the three anonymous visitors who rated my first-ever parody 111 within hours of its posting and left no explanations. No hard feelings are intended here; the song is to be sung in the frustrated tone of a starving bohemian parody author just trying to keep himself alive. Note that these lyrics contain references to three previous Queen parodies: "Kazoo" (original song "Bijou"), my first parody -- http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/queen26.shtml "Fried Chicken" (original song "One Vision") -- http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/queen175.shtml "Footlong" (original song "Headlong") -- http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/queen31.shtml
Each night,
Whenever there's nothing on TV,
I merely navigate myself to Am I Right;
Sometimes, I think of a parody to write
And say I want you to review it if you can.
I like you truly;
You've offered me some compliments, so fine and review-ly.
But readers of parodies
Highly dependably
Voted down "Kazoo".

I feel like its pacing
Is respectably good,
And the words are in sync each time.
Sarcastic,
C'est "Bijou", tout rempli d'humeur!*
And at the risk of becoming
A bragging, conceited man:
I'm howlin' here -- it's so laughable.

[Instrumental Break]

You liked "Fried Chicken",
It was plain,
'Cause it got some approval here.
And "Footlong"
Brought a nice jolly bit of cheer.
And with no qualifications,
I can say for a fact:
"J'suis fier de les ecrire!"**

Understand that you're nice:
Your positive feedback speaks to me;
Every upvote, I feel bright.
Meanwhile, I also think criticizing's fine.
I think you should've if my lyrics were so bad.
I'd be your Valentino,
But have you told me why there's "1"s on my parody? No.
Though it wasn't impeccable,
Still I don't get why y'all
Voted down "Kazoo". (It's unsolvable)
Voted down "Kazoo". (Wooh wooh)
Voted down "Kazoo". (So I made this)
* French for "It's 'Bijou', filled with humour!" ** French for "I'm proud to have written them." "Ecrire" should have an acute accent over the first "e".

Super stuff - doesn't the original have a kazoo solo? Haven't listened to it in ages (on vinyl & the record player's packed away), though I have played it on occasion. Some excellent substitutions, too.

Definitely taking the right attitude to the petty, vindictive little twerp who tries to make everyone else as unhappy as he is by voting 1s on others' parodies :)

Admiral, when you get to ten submissions, Amiright will create a file of your work which can be linked to by clicking on your name. Until such time it's almost impossible to find your other stuff -- as you are no doubt aware of now

CML - there's always the "Search" link, in which you can enter any parody author you like. It's how I found the earlier "kazoo" parody. Another option is using google with a site:www.amiright.com (useful for tracking down a comment you kind of remember but can't think where it was)

Plus, I provided links to the earlier parodies in the top comments.
