Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A bittersweet song about growing old...
I fill up your pillbox
With all kinds of sedation
Something for your arthritis
And a blue one for gas
We go shopping at Tesco
Where you bulk-buy your cat food
There's a bargain on hairnets
If you're paying cash!

Living alone now
Eating dry toast for dinner
Cause your pension don't stretch far
And support socks ain't cheap
You're the life of the party
When you're down at the Bingo
One or two sherries
And you fall asleep!

Hey granny, let's go now
There's a nursing home waiting
Though you've been independent
Things are starting to slide
And you've lived through two world wars
But this battle you're losing
I'll visit each Sunday
Hold your hand with pride!!

I was going to say Awwww too, but Johnny beat me to it. Very touching, Kristof. And Arwen, you do too know the song. The opening line is "You fill up my senses, like a night in the forest."

Kristof - 5's. Arwen - don't feel too bad, the first half-dozen times someone used this song for a parody I begged off with DKTOS because I couldn't place the song from the title and the parody lyrics didn't lead me to any sort of melody. Finally someone referenced it for me and the light went on. And yes, Kristof, I DO hate this song...UGH! I think the "P" score on this one is for "poignancy".
