The Lyrics

i can see her lyin' slack...she's a splattered mess
met her doom, where cars zoom..with much liveliness
rundown..she didn't take care
on the freeway a-creepin'...bound for who knows where
rundown..she didn't take care
on the freeway a-creepin'...bound for who knows where

drivers started to careen...when that maiden, seen
but she got in the way and was crushed between
rundown...there lie her remains
she was struck by a chevy and it bashed in her brains
rundown...there lie her remains
she was struck by a chevy and it bashed in her brains

i can picture how she flew...and the sudden ache
gettin' tossed in the fast lane, where her bones would break
rundown...she didn't seem scared
did she walk while a-sleepin', without a care ?
sometimes, when takin' a spin
you may find you a woman where a car should have been

i can see that she's been trashed...once a beauty queen
but a run over woman doesn't look too keen
some tires...left marks on her frame
now, she can get no deader...she is way beyond pain
rundown...the horns musta blared
will we find she'd been drinkin'...and quite impaired ?
rundown..her life was not spared
what the hell was she thinkin' 'bout...while out there ?
sad time...for all of her kin
what's the deal with this woman ?...was she boozin' on gin ?

Best line -you may find you a woman where a car should've been! 555 - well done, though it's more sad than funny.

Until the third verse, where the word, "Woman" came up, I actually thought this was going to be about a bird roadkill...but, anyway.. very well constructed and unusual story parody..

Ol' Gord is a crazy Canuck like me. I love his music. Good job on the parody. 555

I thought like AFW, it was roadkill of some sort, like a cat, then it seemed sadder, but very good. 5's

Was it a car that killed her, or was it the Gales of November? This was disgusting, but great. In fact, Malcolm Higgins' lawyer might want a word with you, 'cause this is a little too close to his oeuvre.

First glance at the title and I thought this was going to be a tribute to Pach's flu... :-D

Great work...his really works with the original song! My thoughts exactly everytime I hear I here of some some 30 or 40 year-old getting squished by a car at 3:00AM.

I found this by clicking on the 'random' button. Better late than never! I love the song Sundown and have always wanted to parody it, but strangely, this obvious sub has never entered my mind - until now. Augghh! It's too late :)

Alvin - this is as good as your "Psycho" parodies. I think I have a renewed interest in doing another Bates write. And it doesn't leave you "flat" - unlike the unfortunate victim. "Rundown" - This gives a whole new meaning to flat-tire.

This is quite good, Sir Alvin! Perhaps a little vitamin ~B~ could revive this dear lady !?!
