The Lyrics

Look at the bright side. Would somebody tell me where the bright side is
so I can look at it for a while?
Kerry ran a class, tight campaign;
The Bushies got the vote out, too--
Seems like only one can toast himself with champagne;
And the other's got shit on his shoe....

Losing sucks ass!
Losing sucks ass, I'll say!

Up in Boston, Mass., there's dining;
In Crawford, there's a Texaco--
After a liberal loss, the pundits will be whining,
And some satirists will be eating crow....

Losing sucks ass!
Losing sucks ass, I'll say!

Losing sucks ass!
Gallstones of life must pass!
So, I'll blow up my TV--
Now stick a fork in me!

Now the Shrub has got his mandate for four years;
That's an "in-your-face!" to his dear old dad!
I'll be writing songs to whack 'im for four more years--
Hey, I guess things didn't end so bad!

Losing sucks ass!
Losing sucks ass, I'll say!
Losing sucks ass!
Losing sucks ass, okay........

Bob - One good thing out all this is that I have eliminated the hour or so of television I used to watch every week at home. I used to turn on the news a bit a few times a week but I get all that much better now from written sources with less visual abomina. Cannot stand to even LOOK at Bush, much less hear him speak.

Yeah, Paul, I share your visceral disgust with our duly elected president. I find it interesting that my wife and I have both gotten nasty notes on our windshields from anonymous Republican gloaters in the last week. Those one's guys are everywhere it seems, and cowards one and all.

I don't think the one votes are there for gloating. Ever think that the readers out here are just about sick and tired of Kerry/Bush parodies? Take a clue from the master Bush basher Bill Tong. I'd have thought that he would be extremely vocal about this and by the way you have a long ways to go to be as good as he is.

I'm not sure I know the original song, but I agree with the message here. Nice work, Bob.

The bright side, BFG, is that all things must pass. The original came out before my time but I bought that special CD reissue a few years ago and LOVE IT.
