Well the line of people in front of the drug store
Was maybe seven or eight.
But my prescription was ready for pickup,
So I stood outside to wait.

When at last they let me come in,
I thought everything was fine.
But to get the meds - oh no, not again! -
I gotta stand on another line?

Lines, lines, everywhere a line;
Waitin’ outside the store, wastin’ my time.
Not yet! Don't come in! Just get on the line.

Well I waited on a line to buy toilet paper,
But the shelves were bare.
No Lysol, wipes or alcohol…
There’s just nothin’ there!

I don’t understand all the hoarding;
And when this ends I can’t forsee.
We’re all in this together, I guess -
Just stay six feet away from me!

Now, hey you, mister, can't you read?
You've got to wear a mask to buy somethin’ to eat
My glasses are foggy - can hardly breathe.
Maybe I should just Stay. Home.
And the line goes all the way around the block… can’t see the end.
Ugh!

Well, there was no line outside the church
When I passed by today.
But when I tried the doors they all were locked -
I couldn’t go in to pray.

So I got me a pen and a paper,
And on the door I left a sign.
I said ”I can’t wait, Lord, to come back to church;
Won’t ya kick C0VlD’s behind?”!
