The Lyrics

When the "Red Wedding" happened, I didn't know enough about "Game of Thrones" to write a parody about it, but the title "Total Eclipse of the Starks" came to me. I gave the title to Phil Alexander, and he tore the roof off with it. The other day, Claude Prez wrote "Wildling Girl," with a pun on Ygritte's name in his closing comments. That inspired this. It would have been a lot easier if Walder's last name were prounced like "Fry" instead of "Fray" -- it would have been "Frey Way." Brace yourself... Parody is coming.
And now… the end is near…
and so I face… the winter season.
My friend… I’ll say it clear…
I’ll state my case… in land that’s freezin’.
I’ve lived… a life cut short…
This wedding night… it is my die-day.
and so… I ask you this:
I ask you, “Why, Frey?”

Yrgitte… she’s had a Snow…
and how he go… too “blue” to mention.
He went… where he dare not go…
Nothing he knows… with that exception!
He left… his sworn-on course…
Stepped on her heart… along his lie-way.
But this… I did not see…
I ask you, “Why, Frey?”

Yes, there were times… I’m sure you knew…
no one can live… as long as you…
Coward through all… there is no doubt…
Honor, there’s not… but lots of clout!
You’ve killed us Starks… you’ve left your mark…
and I ask, “Why, Frey?”

I’ve loved… Talisa well…
I’ve had my fill… but now I’m losing.
And now… King’s Landing tells…
the Lannisters… find it amusing.
To think… they do not know…
Another feast… their boy dies sly way!
Oh yeah… all men must die…
But not you – Why, Frey?

For what is a man? What has he GoT?
Danerys comes… fear her a lot!
Arya’s revenge… the need she feels!
Soon you will die... but first you'll kneel!
Book Seven shows… you’ll face your foes…
and you will die, Frey!

Book Seven shows… you’ll face your foes…

And you will
die…
Frey!
Whoo! Whoo... Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen. ‘Til we meet you again, may the gods bless you, Westeros.

:-) Another fun addition to the ever-growing GoT parody oeuvre. I'm a-Frey'd he will die, soon..

Speaking of parodic ourves, Mike, are you going to do anything with Ygritte and Billy Joel's "She's Just like a woman?" That has potential. I could certainly spin one out in short order. ..... In any event, if you were going to do it, you should wait until after this Sunday's episode as Ygritte is featured .... And i think she dies in Jon Snowe's arms
