COVID PIE


A long long time ago
I can still remember
When the COVID
Had just been a while

And I knew with only, just one glance
That many wouldn’t, take the chance
And maybe , they’d wear face masks ,for a while

But February made me quiver
Glad I wasn’t, a care-giver
Bad news with one misstep
need to get more sani-prep

I can’t remember if I cried
When I learned I can’t get , my hair dyed
Wear a mask and stay inside
Until , the COVID dies
So

I’llllllll just have to stock up on pie
May get heavy, eat spaghetti and then go drink a mai tai
Might as well get some more whiskey and rye
Thinking this may be the day that I die

I was a lonely teenage COVID schmuck
On a long vacation with the world amok
And I knew that I was outta luck
Until the COVID died
I started singing

Now for ten weeks I’ve been on my own
My fats grown and it ain’t hormone
But that’s not how it was, to be.


The pro- testers were , getting mean
And they had signs that, were obscene
And a voice that said let’s all be cop-free

And now that things were ,looking down
They started boarding , up downtown
The courtroom ,it was burned
No verdict was returned,.

And well Trump he went and closed the parks
They de-stroyed ,our landmarks
And we held torches in the dark
Until the COVID died
We were singing

Helter skelter starting to swelter
may be time to build a bomb shelter
Eight weeks in and pie ,..may not last

I’m stranded at an underpass
The drivers thought that they could pass
With protesters , on the sideline , getting gassed

Now the night time sense was doom and gloom
Most neighbors stayed in their cocoons
I thought I’d take a chance
...go and get a cash advance

Cause the protesters were makin shields
They refused to ever yield
I still recall when they just kneeled
Until, the COVID died

Despite the prejudicial fight

And in the streets, the masses teamed
All things aside ,it seemed a dream
The windows were all broken
The truth it was unspoken

And the cops who, I admire most
They had lost their com-mand post
They all accepted, they were toast
