The Lyrics

The part about $10 trillion in Lincolns reaching halfway to the moon is true.As for the pacing issues, just remember that singing from "trillion" to "thousand" on the same note stretches it out almost to the point of monotony (ugh! bad pun!) and that actually helps make the point: the Feds are spending A LOT of money they don't have!
We've got 9 trillion, 999 billion, 999 million,
999 thousand 999 dollars to go
and then I don't know if we'll be out of debt!

The deficit is soaring,
They've been spendin' the whole year through.
Pork barrel's not done pouring.
GOP? It's nothing new!

And when old Bushco came (Lotta moolah)
Messin' with our oil (Lotta moolah)
The whole country felt the pain
400 billion in the hole!

We've got 9 trillion, 999 billion, 999 million,
999 thousand 999 bucks to go,
and then I don't know if we'll be out of debt!
Will we be out of debt?

You're done with life, will Uncle Sam
Every penny you have.
The Congress will just chew it up
In half a second flat!

If you had enough 5 dollar bills to pay it,
They'd reach halfway to the moon!
Though it may be little consolation,
Two years left for Silver Spoon....

We've got 9 trillion, 999 billion, 999 million,
999 thousand 999 dollars to go
and then I don't know if we'll be out of debt!

Will we be out of debt?
We've got 9 trillion, 999 billion, 999 million,
999 thousand 999 dollars to go
and then I don't know if we'll be out of debt!

And then I don't know if we'll be out of debt!
(9 trillion, 999 billion, 999 million,
999 thousand 999 dollars to go)

DKTOS, but I completely agree with the sentiment. In fact, this kinda reminded me of the song "One Trillion Dollars" by Anti-Flag, about government spending on the war. Great job!

Something about this parody makes a lot of cents.

ABC...I wish I knew the OS...I'm sure I would have liked this more. In general, though, anything about spending money makes me smile...; )

#/-$ - Grats on the first submission of this song and possibly performer. Billions of dollars is incomprehensible to most people... when I worked at HRSD, I remember a conversation with the head of operations: he wasn't even phased unless purchases were in the five digit range... creeping decimalism is what I believe he called it. Anyway, nice work here, Michael.

(ABC3#) Great write, Mike, but....1) DKTOS, and 2) I have enough trouble managing my own budget, let alone worrying about your country's! Nevertheless, high 5s

(ABC) Nice to see you criticizing the Republicans for once, Mike! ;) Just kidding, but a good write anyway.
