The Lyrics

NOT about my current job...BTW, this OS is another fine 60's song by Traffic that had not been used previously on this site...
Working here they won't promote me
these folks are good at deception
understood; motivation wanes
but they still want a good show

Even when I do what I should
they will find some way to blame me
D*ckheads treat you like you're a clown
All I am missing's the nose

Working for piddly wages
for these crazy, cheap-ass fools
looked at like rats in cages
don't be expecting praises

Often 'dissed', then demoted
by my lame, dumb-assed boss
Doesn't think I am working that hard
that makes my resentment grow

Bosses; To them you're faceless
just another nameless tool
Addressed in cliched phrases
Then given 'Nickel' raises

(During Long Instrumental Break here - Sounds of nickels & other small change tinkling into a tin cup)

Spat on by fat-assed bosses
clueless jerks who think they're Gods
your patience; now exhausted
Line drawn; they'll soon have crossed it

So pissed off; I feel rotten
I'm tired of all this crud
All these bastards think I'm a retard
No way they'll pay me more dough

I know...

These assholes do not value me
respect; I won't be expecting
Staying here is really lame
Unless you lii-ii-iii-ike
eating cro-oo-oow...

Thanks, Tim...I agree and hope to use some more Traffic songs in the near future - alvin, when you do he's probably going to say "Hmmm...I don't remember a 'Paul Robinson' working here...but it sure sounds like he did...". Rick C, yeah, doesn't it just totally SUCK? Thanks, JB...agree that Traffic is both great and underappreciated...when I was done checking the pacing to the OS recording last night I went ahead and played the whole CD...it's on those Compilations, so most of their best stuff was on it...although I was surprised that "Medicated Goo" wasn't...especially since I was thinking of doing one with that...now I have to dig out my old casette tape of the album it was on...I know I have it because I listened to some of it not long ago...

Speaking of Traffic, I have two of their songs on Amiright: Please Go See a Psychiatrist (The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys) and Dear Mr. Idiot (Dear Mr. Fantasy), an anti-Bush rant. After reading the latter, either Melhi or Peregrin told me to stop playing in Traffic.

Tim, You know I noticed only 4 submissions of Traffic numbers prior to my recent two, but I didn't take a look at them at the time because I was working with different OS pieces. But thanks for noting those, because I have done a draft of a "Dear Mr. Fantasy" piece today so I would like to take a look at your piece later tonight. Personally, I'd like to see a lot more Traffic material around here, they've got some interesting stuff...
