Hi Rick, It was on "The Who Sings My Generation" (1965). It had lines like:"I haven't got eleven kids; I weren't born in Baghdad. I'm not Hog-Chinese either; and I didn't kill my dad." Certainly not light-weight stuff for a Brit pop band in '65.

Ditto. I saw them in NJ in early '68. I Can See For Miles was still in the "high numbers" on the charts. Little Billy , I'm A Boy, and A Quick One While He's Away were all in their repertoir. Being in junior high at the time, my friends and I had never seen anything like The Who. Smoke bombs and wild lighting covered the stage - Moon hurled his drums. Townshend trashed his guitar, and a wall of Hi-Watt amps. Daltrey played cowboy with his microphone cord, while The Ox held everything down, soloing on bass. Oh yes, we were speaking of parodies, weren't we? . . . Rick, I think you would be the natural choice to parody The Who Songbook. I H-Hope You D-D-Do It Bef-f-f-ore You G-G-G-Get Old!

Sorry, too l-l-l-ate. I have done about six of them. (Squeeze Box, Getting in Tune, Summertime Blues, My Generation, Baba O'Riley) I also arranged "Pictures of Lily" for woodwind quintette. (And heard it performed) It cracked me up to see grannies and kids hearing that song in winds, never knowing what the lyrics were about. The Horn player did the solo from the record.

It's Not True was on the album The Who Sings My Generation from 1965. BTW, I wrote a parody of My Generation titled Prozac Generation.
