The Lyrics

My tribute to the funniest movie of ALL time, Caddyshack.
Ty Webb putts upon the Bushwood greens,
Smails scoffs at the people of modest means
Carl grows grass that will get you high
His mission for the day is the gopher must die

Brown Gopher, get him out of Bushwood
Brown Gopher, Carl had misunderstood
Woo!

Al drinks beer from a keg in his bag
Ladies Carl likes are just old hags
Looper dreams he's the Cinderella Boy
Shoots at the gopher that looks like a toy

Brown Gopher, varmit guts would be good
Brown Gopher, seem like you understood

Ah, get you now, brown gopher, think like an animal now
Ah got my gun site on the, brown gopher, just like a hunter should yeah

Cannon ball commin' Ty and Carl chug down
Lacy beds men all over the town
Caddie Day swim leaves a mental scar
Doodie in the pool is nothing but a Clark Bar

Brown Gopher, how do you dance around
Brown Gopher, you're making Carl unsound

Well,
Noonan plays well as he making the scene
Hits on Lacy and gets right onto her green
Smails says caddy him to make things right
Against Webb and Czervik, it's gonna be a fight

Brown Gopher, Carl's gonna blow you out
Brown Gopher, C4 has lots of clout

Noonan's last shot just hung onto the green
Carl blew the golf course into smithereens
The ball dropped in and Ty's team won
Smails renegged so Al got his chums and

Brown Gopher, he's gonna get away
Brown Gopher, dance for another day, yeah

I said fore, fore, fore, two!
How come you...how come Smails got in the way?
Bill.., Bill.., Bill.., Baroooo!
Don't eat like ...eat like Spalding will
Pick.., Pick..., Pick..., Eeew!

Thanks John, and you have to see it. Thanks, Alvin! Thanks, Mr. Turtle "Not Gopher"! The move has a lot of rude, crude, sophmoric humor. What more can you ask for? Especially when it's presented by Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield & Ted Knight. It was Harold Ramis's first crack at directing. It has one liners in it that have stayed with me to this day!!!

Needed to add some more comments about this comedy classic. For those who have not seen it, another item to appreciate about it was much of it was ad libbed, I watched a feature on it and Harold Ramis displayed the actual scriooed of two scenes in particular: Bill Murray's "Cinderella Boy" speech, and Chevy & Bill's reparte in the groundskeeper quarters. The script basically just descibed the scens, with no dialog written, and these masters took it on and ran with it. Also, Rodney was Hilarious in it. One great line after the next, yet the documentary showed that he was nervous as hell performing and thought that he was bombing. And he was wondering while everyone in the movie was present at his scenes. Ramis explained to Rodney that they were all in awe of him.. All right, my CaddyRant is over....

(ABC A & B) Love the OS and the movie too, and I'll admit that my first apartment was almost a dead ringer for the Caddyshack greenskeeper quarters. Well-executed, scorecard's full of birdies, eagles and double-eagles, and you'll get all 5s and like it!

"Cannonball" of thanks to you, Andria!

I've seen Caddyshack maybe 100x, but I don't know who "Looper" is. Some great refs, others a bit obscure--I wish there were more real giggles than scene-drops.
Mark Scotti - March 30, 2010 - Report this comment
A "Looper" is what Bill Murray referred to himself in the movie, "A looper...you know..caddy, pro, jock!!!" Thanks, Agri!!

ABC- "But if i kill all the golphers, i'll be in big trouble..." "Not the golphers, the gophers!!" I love that part! Great tribute to the movie!

(ABC-AB) ...I really need to watch this movie sometime, what with all the parodies and stuff referencing it. This means this parody was kinda lost on me, particularly as I don't know the OS that well. So...yeah.

Thanks Abbott(That is one of my favorite lines as well, as well as 'Your honor, your Honor...") LOL Thanks bobpie! you do have to watch it. It's simply improvised comedy genius!

Brown Gopher. . .fun parody overall very fun, not something I'd say had me falling out my chair (of course I'm on the floor anyway) but anyhow, good job
