The Lyrics

Received radio airplay around L.A. during 2003 CA recall & election. Originally a total parody political satire, a new copyrighted melody was created.
1: Oh, where the homeless go
& sleep outside all winter long-.
& even taggers will scrawl
they think that something wrong's been going on.
Out on the Left- Coast, so out to sea----,
Sinking faster with Gray Davis is not for me.

CHORUS A:
Out on the Left Coast, Californ - eye -- ay.
Out on the Left Coast, we go broker each day.
Out on the Left Coast, everyone is a star.
Out on the Left Coast, you just don't know who they are
Out on the Left Coast, Left Coast.

2: It was two years before,
when this had been the golden land-.
But that time is no more
& now the whole state is out of hand.
Out on the Left Coast, so out to sea----,
Trying to bank it with Gray Davis is not for me.

CHORUS B:
Out on the Left Coast, we've got Hollywood Hills.
Out on the Left Coast, we've got huge rental bills.
Out on the Left Coast, fees are doubling again.
Out on the Left Coast, it's just a matter of when
Out on the Left Coast, Left Coast.

3: Our schools are out of books.
Our jails have all run out of room-.
And we're so deep in debt,
we need someone to terminate this gloom.
Out on the Left Coast, so out to sea----,
Hitting bottom with Gray Davis is not for me.

CHORUS C:
Out on the Left Coast, we've got jobless galore.
Out on the Left Coast, we'll be bringing in more.
Out on the Left Coast, we've got total recall.
Out on the Left Coast, maybe Ahnold next fall
Out on the Left Coast, Left Coast.

CODA: [ spoken on quick fade ]
Do we really want Cruz control?
What if it is discovered that Ahnold's papers
from years ago were not in order?
Would that make him an illegal alien?

Right, it was all Gray Davis' fault. None of that of the occupier -- I mean, occupant of the White House.

MP is right - it wasn't all Gray Davis' fault. A lot of it was the fault of California state legislators. I am not sure how all of them got elected (except we are the Left Coast); but, unfortunately, we did not recall them, too. This is a very good first parody, Mick, and you have a very impressive web site. I hope you continue to submit to amiright.

Maybe Ahnold's papers really are not up to snuff. Maybe that's why he hasn't been all that vocal regarding the illegal immigration issue.

How can the man who brought about the origin of the Hummer & still owns 4 of them come on so green?

Song is sad, but true ... & funny
