Painkiller Jane was a comic series that was adapted into both an independent movie in 2005 and then a SyFy Channel series in 2007 starring Kristanna Loken from "T3" and "BloodRayne." The series only lasted 1 season. Basically, Jane Vasco is a police detective that is tasked with infiltrating the Mob and is double-crossed with a biochemical bomb in her backpack. It detonates but somehow doesn't kill her. She develops self-healing and presumed dead goes on to become a vigilante- an indestructable one at that. The only problem is that Jane feels all the pain of the bullets, knives, axes, explosions, fire, etc... but it gives her strength so that she can perfect her martial arts skills and marksmanship over time. Sorta like a female Punisher, but unable to be killed! PKJ is now a new comic series by Dynamite and a new movie is planned for the future.
