Original Song Title:

"Martha, My Dear"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Mother Is Near"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

...as sung by norman bates...
mother is near
lo, i spend my days in emulation
seized
i'm never me
mother, though stuffed
lives inside me
mother is near

coldly stabbed up and killed that girl
look what she's done
when i found that girl it was sickening
helpless waif that was whittled up
and later found nude
rigid girl

i've a real kook inside me
i've a real kook
its lunacy
that she and me
are joined, you see
to each other
still my girl

though you're stitched up, you withered girl
freely, you run
you still hang around just a little bit
mental health
ain't a thing i got
when i'm around you
wicked girl

mother is near
and she's always been my inspiration
please
don't arrest me
mother, though snuffed
misdirects me
mother is near

You're psycho for these "Psycho" parodies.

The enjoyment of reading Norman's p.o.v.'s never abates.

I thought this was going to be about a teen ager and her chaperone. Clever anyway.

Not just a parody...it's a Norman-dy

I've gone "Psycho" over your parodies, Alvin!! BTW, whenever I listen to Talking Heads' song "Psycho Killer", it reminds me of about Norman Bates in that movie. When you mentioned how Bates stabbed the girl in your song, I also thought about a while back I played this 1989 PC game called "Laura Bow: The Colonel's Request", where I encountered this "game over" scene where the protagonist (Laura Bow) gets stabbed in the shower like that girl in the movie. The caption read "Didn't Alfred teach you anything?" Anyways, next time I take a shower, I got to keep all my windows and doors locked and dead-bolted! Good Show. 555!

thanks matthias, renaldo, 2eagle, AFW and andria....that movies screwed up the joy of showers for a lot of people

Just so you know, Alvin, that comment you referred to as being by me and as ruining the appeal of showering was by Christie Marie M, not me, although she and I are your biggest fans, with UnknownVotress/LittleCupCakes as a close third. However, I really like the movie "Psycho", have a replica Bates Motel sign in my living room, and have a locking bathroom door as well as a barred window and locking, plexiglass shower door. 5s for you.

oops....and i forgot to thanlk christie for her comments...envious of the bates sign...sounds like a very secure shower

Alvin, in case you want a Bates Motel sign of your own, Johnson Smith Co. and possibly Spencer Gifts sell them, and they are made of plastic with a lightbulb inside and run off of standard house electricity with a glass fuse inside the plug. The "No" part of the No Vacancy sign also flickers like the original, and the sign looks surprisingly real when lit up.

S'ok, Alvin! :) Don't worry about it. And to respond to your comment, you're quite welcome! Oh, and I also want to show you this YouTube clip. You can find it on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCu3txSxzaQ. It's that Bates/Game Over scene I was telling you about. Till then, Peace Out!!! :)
