"Weddings"

The Lyrics

Bride peeking out
From under her white veil
Dolled up and lovely
Walks down the aisle
Next to her Dad, who's
Proud as a peacock,
Everyone goes to weddings

Groom in his tux
Stands tall by the preacher
Nervously smiling,
Shaky of knees
Crowd hushes whispers,
Stealing a back glance
Everyone goes to weddings

And weddings have lots of tears,
And weddings have smiles and cheers
Nice flowers and flying rice
Kisses on cheeks,
And shakes of hands

And weddings have bills and debts
Some relatives with regrets
Beginnings of losing bets
'Bout the outcome
'Bout the outcome

Bride's former boyfriend
Sits in the back row
Hiding his sorrow,
Forcing a smile
Leaves by the back door
When it's all over
Everyone goes to weddings

Everyone goes to weddings

I really enjoy your slice of life parodies, they're always descriptive, pacing is dead on, and simply an easygoing read. Enjoyed this very much, and a very nice touch of melancholy at the end.

Many of the songs here are topical. This is one with long-term value.

Weddings used to be fun with free food and wine, but nowadays invitations come with a price. You must bring money.
