The Lyrics

Spur-of-the-moment post: heard OS in car... Video here. OS was very cleverly syllable-matched to this parody! Great word-Association, guys!

Cherries are preferred; juice ooze; hard to hide
Although stealing's phat (I have!), riding near and blue, eyes wide
You don't know how many times I've wished they could be tasted
You don't know how many times I've said, should not be wasted
You don't know how many times I've wished they could be basted onto sundaes I could garishly lick much as I ... wanted to

Dairies are the herd: adore and apprise
What I grope for, near heart, sublimely milk, supplies
I get so hot, wanna' see the cone, two paired: ice cream
I want a lot, 'cause it's so much fun: cherries supreme
Eat till I rot; glutton: me; undone: affair; rip seams with glee! My wife? She wouldn't share with; so much, deny ... implores

Oh, I'm beginning to think that Man becomes unwound:
The birds and the bees in the tree
He is so tightly bound in fetters
Lust, delights: mound
That wood: ache severe
Quake and plea
Forever striving devoutly to find....

Oh, fine bouquet it feeds you
And then you idealize
And you want to
It's been a thousand guys' demise
Who thirst thereof to...
...Go make a nest in the thighs
When all they wanted was to clutch, embrace in hand:
Some glazed hot cherry pies!

Cherries: hunger stirred; infuse and imbibe
Till I'm reeling, but it's salve; guiding here anew your vibe
You don't know how many times I've wished for ice cream, cold; You --
-- Do not know how many times I've wished I could behold you
You don't know how many times I've wished I could enfold you into something so éclair-ishly, nonesuch like; I ... swear ish' true! (burp)

Hot fudge, too
Cherries: chew
Sad, but true:
Cherries: few
Cherries for this nerd....

Yum, yum! I love those double 'n tender cherry pies! © 2009 Tommy Turtle. All rights reserved. E-mail: tomm...@yahoo.com

Ditto alvin and LOL AFW! DDouble-scoops of Elvis-sized entendre, served up on the half-shell, as only TheTurtle man can! Every sub a thigh falutin' lexical buffet... now pardon me while I attempt to grok yer inner-moist meaning re: 'garishly éclair-ishly'...
2Eagle - May 28, 2009 - Report this comment
I thought this was going to be about cherries of the other kind that you "pop". Good effort. I knew one of the guys who sang with the Association so I remember the OS well.

Cherries are my favorite fruits. I especially love eating Maraschino kinds as well! Today's cherry specials: 5 Cherries Jubilees, 5 Cherry Cokes, and 5 Cherry Ice Creams!

depending on how you count, last line of 2nd verse has 7 or 8 sentences or phrases or fragments. ... is that a record for one "line"?

Normandy Prunus: I'm "getting" you better and better with time, and methinks others will, too. Good combination of pun and double-entendre in three words. :-) Thanks for v/c!

Peachy, too (still leaves apricots & almonds)
John Jenkins - February 13, 2011 - Report this comment
Outstaning word play from "Word Association" all the way through "tender cherry pies."
Tommy Turtle - February 13, 2011 - Report this comment
John Jenkins: Thank you. But was the typo meant to be "Outstanding" or "Out staining? (kidding! - thanks, John.)
Meriadoc - September 11, 2012 - Report this comment
I shudder to think what you might do with "Apple Peaches Pumpkin Pie" ;) I'm sure you didn't entendre for those comments to be so fruity, and nary a lemon squeezer in sight.
Tommy Turtle - September 11, 2012 - Report this comment
Halloween approaching -- pumpkin pie .... hmmm, nice... but cherries are so "Associated" (ouch!)...
Peaches -- there's a possibility -- isn' there an OS with lines like "lovely peaches, love to shake your tree" or something? Or how about

Eleanor Rigby
Melons, Hers: Big, Be

TWOTEF
A Rack Of Two Monsterous Melons

OMG. Why do you encourage the madman? ... Now I *have* to write that -- sometime. In the meantime, that title switch © Tommy Turtle. Thanks for the read, comment, and blasted must-do inspiration! ;-D

Saved by the bell! AFW did "A Rack --- " with the same idea, in 2007. I'm off the (bra) hook! :)

Indeed, the absence of the lemon-squeezer was a pleasant surprise. :)
