Original Song Title:

"Pretty Woman"

Original Performer:

Roy Orbison

Parody Song Title:

"Pity Woman"

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

The Lyrics

Pity woman,
Livin' on the street
Pity woman,
She ain't got much to eat
Pity woman,
I'd like to help her,
Oh, yes I would..
But I'm laid off,
No pay's no good..
Sorry..

Pity woman,
Lives in misery
Pity woman,
Shabby clothes, I see
Pity woman,
Her eyes look lonely as can be
I feel so sorry, sympathy..

Pity woman,
Never smiles..
Pity woman,
With a child..
Pity woman,
Hunts thru trash and flies
Pity woman,
Just survives..
Pity woman,
Lost, each day
Pity woman,
Cardboard box to lay..

Pity woman,
Old shopping cart
Pity woman,
It tears my heart
Pity woman,
For her, I pray
Each day..

Can't spare cash money,
But let me say
I want to help her in some way,
I called around last night..

For humane aid, I see
There's a shelter, close to me
Where I'll send her, tenderly,
Oh, oh....
Pity woman..

No worries,,I'll pick her up in my exotic sports car, whose gearshift I can't work, and make a Cinderella out of her. S-hell of a fine parody!

Poor woman! Depressing yet funny at the same time. I'll gladly donate her $555 so she could feed herself and put a roof over her head! I've seen some pregnant women who are homeless when I used to work in Jersey City.

I voted it 5's for pacing and overall but 2 on funniness because it wasn't very funny that said it was still very good and touching hope to see more like this

Very nice! Sad of course. I didn't deduct for lack of humor because not all parody has to be explicitly funny. Pathos, irony, etc. should be just as valid. Roy O is great! But wait! What do I see? *555*

Farce - I thank the good Lord everyday that I have a job and a home and food to eat and my family is well. I work on the east side of town. The installation I work on has a very wealthy neighborhood on one side of it and a very poor run down neighborhood on the other side. I move through the poor side back and forth to work. Someties I stop at a Quicky Mart in the early morning around 5:45AM. There is usually at least one pan handler out there in the morning. They want money - spare change. I ask them what they want it for. They say food - I say fine - follow me - I go back into the store and tell them they can buy something to eat and I'll pay for it. Sometimes they go for it and sometimes they don't. This way I'm not feeding someones substance problem. I'll help a brother who truly needs it but I will not enable an addict. Great parody. You have ♥ so I bestow to you these fine cards - 5♥ 5♥ 5♥

I don't think a parody has to be drop-dead funny to rate a good score in that column. A parody can be humorous, or satirical, or ironic. I think this one is heavy with irony and merits a higher score. I for one would like to see that column heading changed to something besides "How Funny" but that's just me. :-P

Given to the state of economy, this song wasn't funny - it is something which may happen to anyone. But the song was witty. Fives.
