Some reddish-spotted trout they call the cutthroat
Fishtail through the rocks when it's light,
Just to show the anglers that they're hungry.
Not too deep, hope these things will all bite.

I throw my line, tied with nymphs as bait.
I watch it's classic flight. I stand and wait.
My line might snare some eager beaut',
As it falls for schemes in streams, my schemes so cute.

In streams, I wade in boots.
In streams, I wait in boots.
In streams, my line has a fly,
My endeavors with schemes in streams.

And just before they're gone,
There's a shake, my line goes taut.
I feel helpless, I feel helpless, as it fights.
Then my effort brings food for the night.

So crafty are these schemes.
I boldly catch 'em with my schemes,
Boldly in streams,
In beautiful streams.
