The Lyrics

In the Tennessee town of Mufreesboro, a law was passed that people had to smell nice in order to work (TRUE!!). The URL for this is aol://4344:3167.bodyodor.21084923.746378942
Trials southern accent
Near Nashville...filthy scent
No soap, no work we let
I ain't got no filth, you bet.
Ah, but...8 hours of same ole doom
Prize a great fat check for me soon
And, I'm free of beans by some means.
King of the soap.

Heard there are uptight veins
A vacation....from the brains
Told throughout all the news.
I won't pay no jail fine dues.
They spoke, told stories, I am bound
Court, but no rot we are found.
And, I'm free of beans by some means.
King of the soap.

It's in everyone's thoughts how, they make this blame
All of them smiled and fanned and did proclaim
They're all very smug in this here little town.
We know a smell when we smell one,
It's vague, like porn 'roun.

I sing
Trials southern accent
Near Nashville...filthy scent
No soap, no work we let
I ain't got no filth, you bet.
Ah, but...8 hours of same ole doom
Prize a great fat check for me soon
And, I'm free of beans by some means.
King of the soap.

Very nice parody -You sure are getting better at this stuff. You should have more votes on this one - come on folks, it won't break your fingers to vote your mind on this one. Adagio has been working hard on her parodies and has shown marked improvement. We should show our support for a fellow author.

Good work, but the town is named Murfreesboro.
Claude Prez - September 03, 2003 - Report this comment
Good work Adagio--esp. liked "filthy scent" for "fifty cents"

Kudo's Adagio, I can say is that you have your own style. That's good. And you've made a parody of a true story. Thease are are the components excellent satrire, and your on your way. May I suggest that you read some Amiright Articles by various artists. (Found in the articles archive on this site.) And study the Top Twenty authors of the past month few of months. You will discover new tips & tricks. I am not suggesting that you copy anyone elses style. Only to observe and learn what makes their works so very special and unique. It would't surprise me a bit if you have a "big hit " very soon!

Thanks everybody! What an overwheming response (to me) to a parody. Jonathan, you are right...my finger must have slipped :D Wil Man...what valuable hints! Guy, buddy o' mine, thanks. I did work extra on this.

Hey, thanks , Spaff. I just noticed something on the google ads on this parody. Somebody must think porn is associated with this town...there's an ad for deleting it! lol

Wild Man you wrote this "May I suggest that you read some Amiright Articles by various artists. (Found in the articles archive on this site)". I can find archives and articles, but not together...where is it?

Is that really you with all that venom attacking everybody, Malcolm?
Wild Man - September 15, 2003 - Report this comment
I can take out anything you wish to throw at me Sir, but you'd better leave my wife out of this! Someone has already been pranking on her parody comments and she is quite upset with Amiright at the moment. I've been holding my temper until now, If you wish to deal with me go right ahead. Your comments are crass and unfounded! I for one demand an apology for everyone you've bashed here today.
Diva - September 15, 2003 - Report this comment
Malcolm uses small caps, so I'm not sure if it's him or not?
Claude Prez - September 15, 2003 - Report this comment
No way that's Malcolm. No way.
ChuckyG - September 15, 2003 - Report this comment
No it wasn't Malcolm.. just a spammer, been getting a lot of them lately. Just keep reporting them and I'll keep purging them. I'll probably end up blocking another one sooner or later
Guy DiRito - September 15, 2003 - Report this comment
If this is Malcolm he wil fess up as he says he always does. And if it is you Malcolm, you have insulted all of my friends and this will make you no longer a friend of mine.

I think CG should compare IP addresses on this, because if it is not Malcolm then we have another B*****D doing the same thing they did to me insulting MP about a month ago. Probably the same person.
If I were CG I'd ban the IP that sent this crap. I tmakes the site look tacky and it causes problems with those of us who value a professional relationship. So what say, CG, can you get to the bottom of this one? It's your site.
Bubba - September 15, 2003 - Report this comment
I, for one, would be all for having to sign on to the site with a user name and password to post. We could allow people without signons to post, but only under the name "Visitor" or something like that.
Wild Man - September 16, 2003 - Report this comment
Yes Guy, I recall the virtual bashing that occured.
Bubba, you have an excellent Idea there.
Malc, sorry to see all this all happen, because someone hijacked your name.
I hate to see crap like this, but at least everyone understands why Diva has been absent from the comment board. Someone hijacked her name a couple of weeks ago.
Guy DiRito - September 16, 2003 - Report this comment
Whoever this is keeps trying to stir up the authors out here in an attempt to see us get unprofessional with each other. I am sorry that I even considered that now deleted comment as coming from Malcolm. I just saw how upset Wildman was and I'd be that as well if someone talked that way about my wife. I knew for sure it was not Malcolm's and my apologies Malcolm for almost biting on that one. It was late and I was tired, and I wrote before I thought.
Let's just not let anyone trick us out here because if they can then we are giving them what they want when they make these nasty comments. Best report it to CG and let him deal with them. I am 100% in favor of no second chances for people who do this - ban the IP, email and user IDs from the site on the first offense with something as blatant as this one was. I think the site should show no tolerance for this kind of thing and just ban those who wish to trash up the site like this. Anyone else think like this?
Bubba, your idea may be good but if it causes people to not comment or not vote because of any kind of restriction where logins are required, then it is not a great idea. It would also make all the anonymous comments have one signature and thus make it impossible to tell one commentor from another. I think the site would lose some color here.
Adagio - September 16, 2003 - Report this comment
We have a really evil prankster here, and I'm assuming not one of the regulars. Yes, Guy, the longer these people are allowed to trash this site, the better their chances of causing a fight here.
Diva - September 16, 2003 - Report this comment
First off, let me thank everyone for the comments and suggestions. Listen to Chucky G. Lets all put this to rest and let him handel it. He is aware of the problems, I assure you. ( I'm glad I still have a PC in operating condition after last evening's events... Woo! I had to give WIld Man a chill pill along with his MNF beer) I have done my best to ignore the gremlins on this website by avoiding the comment section. I can see that it's the prankster's wish is to pull everyone else in to it's black hole as well. Chucky G will do the right thing. I'm convinced of it. If something seems inappropriate REPORT THE PROBLEM that way Chucky can keep track of the I P of the prankster.

I do have plans for a username system, and allowing unregistered people to post anonymous.. but I haven't had the time to write it, and not sure when I will.. to be honest, there aren't that many spammers yet (happens maybe once or twice a day at best).. and it's easy enough to clean up when it does happen..

???? What happened. Nice song. 5,5,5! Diva, don't regard anything He (or she) said to you. They probably don't know you! I think, from the comment you post and parodies you make, that you're a nice person. I don't make parodies, 'cause I don't think I'm talented enough. This might not help, but I'm saying sorry for them, those (or that) coward! Stay strong GirlFriend!
