Original Song Title:

"A Few Of My Favourite Things"

Original Performer:

Maria (The Sound of Music)

Parody Song Title:

"A Few Of My Favourite Pranks"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

Vomit on roses, dissection on kittens
Sink supertankers to oil up bitterns
Slam doors on people who don't offer thanks
These are a few of my favourite pranks

Pick legs off spiders, pick fights with my neighbours
Sell lots of lies to the national papers
Bully my sister then paint her bright blue
These are my favourite things that I do

Grow up my hedge till it hits the air traffic
Print doctored pix of my friends (pornographic)
Tamper with brakes till the cars are all wrecks
Now the one question is "which favourite next?"

When the doc calls
When the nurse rings
When I'm feeling mad
They drug me to stop all my favourite pranks
And say that I've been a cad

Because Jerry Springer is kind of pathetic
I would castrate him (without anaesthetic)
Ditto for Kilroy, and Oprah too
Yeah, I can see that's appealing to you..

Carve my initials on Britney Spears' forehead
Post Michael Jackson a nuclear warhead
Put LSD in the reservoirs, too
Do these sound suitably prankish to you?

Put choking powder on President's snackies
Work for the USA guarding Iraqis
Incite revolutions, make governments fall
These are my favouritest things of all

When James Bond calls
Ethan Hunt rings
Saying I'm insane
I simply plan more of my favourite pranks
And then the world
shall hear from me
again

Mwahahahahahahaaa

Has kind of a ghoulish flavor to it, Phil. Very nice. And it didn't get doubled up.

Different. Quirky for you , Phil. I enjoy a new spin on things now and then.
2nz - May 11, 2004 - Report this comment
I enjoyed it's inventiveness.

Thank you all... This one must have taken all of ten minutes to write, and I'm afraid it shows: not exactly coherent, but it's too late now to change.

2nz, I'm afraid you couldn't have read the verse on "possessive pronouns" (or don't tell me you've forgotten already?). To quote Tom Lehrer: "There's going to be a short quiz next period"

I...ummm...you didn't let me finish... (Tries to put white-out on the screen, only to find that, among other logical reasons why this wouldn't work, the backdrop is grey anyway.) Okay, here it is: "I enjoyed. It is inventive...umm...ness."

Overall I would say it was all right. I mean, some of those things seem kinda strange; on the other hand I thought a few others were kinda funny. So my vote will be 5-4-5.

PS I forgot to say an apology to John Harvey for nicking his "snackies/Iraqis" rhyme from "If only I had a Brain"

Very cute, 5-5-5 from me, especially the part about Jacko and the nucelar warhead--I was ROFL.
The Thought Police - May 12, 2004 - Report this comment
I think those first two Nuclear warheads were called "fat man "and "little boy"-wich one does Michael get to be strapped to again?

To quote the man who proved that anyone in America can become vice president . . . "What a waste it is to lose one's mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is." -- Vice President Dan Quayle speaking to the United Negro College Fund, 5/9/89

Very whimsical as usual, but do I detect a bit of dark humor in the last verse? ;-)

Great one Phil Possibly your best. Guess it's better when you just let it all flow out of you (only 10 min). Release that bitterness and hatred! LOL : ]]

I have to know Phil, who did you write this parady about???
Phil Alexander - January 14, 2005 - Report this comment
Shh.... can't say this very loud, but it's about (whisperwhisperwhisper). Don't tell anyone, OK?

I found this after writing my own and then looking up other paradoies on the internet :P Yours is way better but I like my "Girls in red dresses with long bloddy slashes, snowflakes that cut and then freeze all the gashes, silver whtie daggers that melt into rings, these are a few of my favorite things!!" apart from that mine sucks compared to yours :P well done!!
Phil Alexander - December 30, 2006 - Report this comment
Thanks Emily - that verse is super, have you posted the rest here?

i like the other one like Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings These are a few of my favorite things Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes Silver white winters that melt into springs These are a few of my favorite things When the dog bites When the bee stings When I'm feeling sad I simply remember my favorite things And then I don't feel so bad That one!

Does anyone know where I can find or have the parody lyrics of "My Favourite Things" that begins like . . . Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens I don't know how people get off on this crap Give me a spanking with hard leather strap. Need it for a rehearsal camp this coming weekend. A big THANKS in advance.
