Song Parodies -> "Bush & Neo-Con Arrogance"

Original Song Title:

"Aquarius"

Original Performer:

Fifth Dimension

Parody Song Title:

"Bush & Neo-Con Arrogance"

Parody Written by:

Paul Robinson

The Lyrics

Bush still insists he made no mistakes. Neo-cons whine that their half-assed "theory" wasn't given a fair chance or some such nonsense. What a bunch of loser's...
Neo-cons continue to espouse
This foolish plan; pre-emptive war
Those bleeps are just bananas
They should be washing cars
Their plan was dumb; their foolish scheme just may bury us
Scheme; it may bury us
may bury us
might bury us

Lots of lies and no real planning
Arrogance was just astounding
Bad assumptions; poor decisions
Showed a total lack of vision
Nine-eleven revelations
B.S. talk of liberation
Embarrass us
Embarrassed us

Those fools continually espouse
These stupid guys seem to like wars
It seems like they are half-wits
Remove these foolish farts
The truth's becoming very clear to Americans
Angry Americans
They lied to us!
They lied to us!
Abused our trust!
Now go; they must!

(instrumental and tempo shift)

They sure tell lies, now, we're wise to it, open your eyes
Fibs, a mile wide, can no longer hide, don't trust these guys
Wake up, arise, pay attention guys, time to get wise

{continue to end}

I must say, I do love an editorial that I can sing!

I love that you picked this song. I'm always tickled when the tone of the original song is completely opposite from the tone of the parody. And I agree with you completely, Paul. Wonderful job!

Great job. Wolfowitz and his ahole ilk aren't called "cons" for nothing

Thanks to all. Ravyn, hadn't thought of it as a 'singing editiorial' but it actually could be. Ashkicksass, I got an assist from someone who used the song last week to slam the Democrats. They certainly have their faults but it's not a close call to me as to who is screwing things up and doing major harm. Anyway, It inspired me, but I waited a bit before posting because I didn't want it to seem personal. Am I becoming more thoughtful at age 54 than 53? No, but I've already done THAT and it doesn't go anywhere...a quick wit, but a slow learner sometimes...

If a Star Trek transporter existed, Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith, Cambone, and all the neocons should be dropped off inside a prison cell in Abu Graib

I might as well change my screen name to Bush defender. Kerry has told more lies in his short campighn to be president than Bush has told in his four years in office. CHECK KERRY'S VOTING RECCORD, he voted for a nuclear freeze, aganist money for troops that were already in Iraq, he chose an somone who was according to him inexperienced as VP don't you all see taht Kerry has no core if today his left wing masters said that the left winged voters liked apes on unicycles we'd see him dressed in a king kong costume riding a unicycle.

Big G - Thanks for looking in. Our perceptual filters differ greatly on the candidates. I don't see you changing your mind on anything, I'm not changing mine on the things I wrote about in my parody or the comments here. I know I'll regret asking this but...just who are Kerry's "left wing masters" ? I really don't want a long back & forth with you, but if you can succinctly answer that one for me I'd be interested.

Paul: All fives, even though I did "He'll Bury Us" a year ago. In this case, imitation may be the sincerest form of getting the Naked Emperor out of our White House. Norm: Clearly you're not as up on "Star Trek" as you think. Forget Abu Ghraib, send them to Rura Penthe! Big G: Kerry's only masters are the American people. He does not lie. He does, when necessary, changes his mind. Bush lies every damn day, and never changes his mind no matter how much he screws up. Dee Range: It's completely the opposite. As the great Tip O'Neill taught us, "All politics is local." For example, here in New Jersey, we lost a lot of people thanks to Georgie's failure to protect our national security on 9/11/2001.

Michael, Thanks! I did do a "Search" on this before I posted it. However, I searched the song under "Fifth Dimension" so I did not see yours. I went over to your author page and found that yours was under "The Cast of Hair", so I did not pick it up on my search. I apologize, there is some significant resemblance in a couple of areas, but the ideas in mine were solely generated in my own head and in my PC word processing program. And, as you say, all for a good cause.

Hey I may not be able to spell but it cuase I type fast and miss my typos but maybe I shoudn't have said that Kerry has masters, I don't think he knows where he stands becasue if you check his voting record you will see that he doesn't have what it takes to CAC of the military. What I meant is he takes a diffrent position to get what he wants And it was clintons faliure if anyones (and I think Clinton couldn't have stopped it either these terrorists want to kill me, they want to kill you, they want to kill ALL AMERICANS they hate us, and they would have found a way to kill us) since he gutted the CIA's budget (oh and guess who voted for that DA DA DA DA DA DA John Kerry. And Bush STANDS FIRM for what he thinks is right, Kerry changes his mind when it will benifit him, I guess we just need to agree to disagree, so lets call a truce okay, no more political songs or comments, what do you guys think? Cause I for one think we need to bring this site back to what it was a site where we wrote humorous songs not poltical protests, come on this site wasn't founded with left wing or right wing in mind, it was founded for fun, lets find another website for your Bush Bashing and my Kerry Bashing, because I think we're getting on peoples nerves (the last time I went on this site three men in black leotards shoved a bag over my head and drug my into a sack where they tourtered me until I told them where I hid the Holly Grail, okay there's a chance this could have been a dream...) with our constant poltical chatter. By the way I wrote a parody called John Kerry it's a spoof of prince charming my MEtallica I'd like you guys to check it out so you can see a cosertive spood. And again let just call a peace treaty adn stop with the politcs on this site.

Big G - Ahh...boy, I really shouldn't bother, but...OK...here: I type EXTREMELY fast - very possibly a lot faster than you...I don't know and I honestly don't care if I am indeed faster or not, but that's just an FYI to preface my remarks. I OCCASIONALLY make mistakes that I do not catch when I RE-READ what I have typed. RE-READING, or PROOF-READING is not a bad idea when you are trying to express yourself. Try it sometimes, you might be surprised. When I'm fatigued I occasionally fall prey to the slight case of dyslexia that I have (They didn't call it that back in the mid-1950's when I was in grade school, so I got to spend about a year in a "remedial" reading class, but they taught me how to focus better and I am very grateful they did.). So you know what ? You should can the lame excuses for poor spelling, because nobody is forcing you to hit the "Submit" button without checking what you said and how you said it. OK...that's behind us now....Ahh...you know what, the rest of what you blather about is nonsense and not worthy of rational discourse, and I don't like to waste my time on any other type when it comes to the serious issues facing our nation. But one more thing, what in the heck is "cosertive spood"? I ran both words through my spell-checker and thesaurus and got no matches. And no, I see no need to refrain from discussing politics on this site. If you cannot hold your own in an intelligent political discussion that is YOUR limitation. Those who are able to should be allowed to continue to do so, in accordance with the "Free Speech" you so selectively defend. I won't even make the suggestion that the reason you are so willing to jettison political discourse here is because your positions become weaker and more ludicrous with each passing revelation about Bush & his cohorts. Thank you...

Sorry I missed this one. If it wasn't for Big G, I might have missed it entirely. Thanks Big G. Remember, Kerry has a legislative record, Bush's record is lying about why we went into Iraq - talk about flip-flop.

Big G - August 12, 2004 - Report this comment
Bush hasn't flip floped he still stands by his assertion that Saddam had WMDS (and he did, or did the Kurds fall dead on thier own). Kerry does flip flop, he says anything to get elected. I personly think that our Founders wanted us to elect people and then tell them how to vote via polls and mail etc and have them keep records and vote on the majority of there constituents. (IE lets say I become a senator and a vote on lets say parody rights comes up, I think the founders wanted me to go into NC and ask "What do you guys want?" when they resonded if they came up with a view contrary to mine tough s*** I have to vote that way. But then again that si simular to true democarcy which may have led to mob rule so maybe we've got it right, who knows) I think we should have take George Washingtons advice and not split into poltical parties I mean look what it's done to our wonderful nation. We can't even write a parody for fun without bashing someone I mean honestly we are scarring away vistiors with our poltical rederick I am going to propse a truce again and I think we should agree to one since we're not really doing anything here but wasting message space, I know I've wasted my fair share of it come on guys Truce?
Paul Robinson - August 12, 2004 - Report this comment
Big G: FYI - that comment on what the "Founders" intended is just plain silly. Back in those days travel was extremely difficult and time-consuming. And that means delivering mail was also not an easy or quick task. And there were no "Telephone" or "E-mail" surveys taken in those days, either. The "Founders" for the most part did not want to be ruled by a distant Monarch, but many of them also were not all that certain that "Democracy" was desirable or even workable. They worried that an uninformed public would make poor choices, and to that end they initially put a lot of very un-Democratic restrictions on the right to vote. For the most part I believe it was restricted to Landowners only. Woman could not vote. I don't know if freed black people could vote, if they were landowners. I would have to check on that. But regardless of the exact nature of those restrictions I can safely say that your assumption if totally incorrect. It would have taken literally months to get all the mailed in results to the Capitol.
