Yes, I'm from the UK - you mean Obama? Speaking as someone who takes an interest in the politics of well over a dozen different countries, I don't think you realize just how lucky you are with Obama :-)

There was an obscure novel "The Devil's Advocate", by Taylor Caldwell, an old-school American conservative/classical liberal/libertarian author. In it a secret cabal of conservatives install a totalitarian dictator in the United States and ramp up the oppression hoping the American people will finally rebel and throw off tyranny forever. Obama could be the leader to pull this off, though I don't think that is his intention. He's no leader, just the tool of men even more ruthless and determined than he. Sounds like UK politicians are up to the same tricks, distracting the public with trivia such as gay marriage, to draw attention away from universal economic disaster.

Obama's racking up the oppression as a totalitarian dictator, is he? He must have a staggeringly good control of the foreign media, because none of this is getting out at all.
