The Lyrics

No, I have never had a round of golf like this one - nor do I ever expect that I will...Looks like the first time this fine "Cream" song has been used in a parody on this site...
Thinkin' 'bout that round I played under par
Never have I hit my driver so far
And my chipping was so great; was as good as I'm able

Not one shot I hit that day found the rough
My game was really on; no swings did I muff
My long irons reached the green; birdie putts they enabled

(Instrumental break)

Well, the times I missed the green; chipped "up" and "down"
I just knew that I would have a great round
When that eagle chip on "6" the cup it found
A roar erupted from the crowd
Was a shot that truly did astound

(Instrumental break & crowd noises of approval)
(Ooh, ooh...Get up, get up, get up...Yeah, yeah, yeah...)
(Yeah, yeah...)

With each passing shot my confidence grew
I just could not believe my score; "62"
I never hooked or sliced; every shot was a straight one

Nice one Paul. I am pretty sure Alvin did it already as "Madge." We were working on a Cain and Abel one, but have shelved it for the time being. Too short a song to get everything in! :-) Incidentally, the OS has some really great music, but the some of the goofiest lyrics I have ever encountered! ;-D

Thanks, Mer. Yeah, it doesn't give you too much room to expand on a theme. Fortunately, golf doesn't have too many general types of shots to describe...I really had trouble with one I was trying to do to Bachman-Turner Overdrive's "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet"...it's almost ALL repetitive of that title with very little in between...too bad because I had some cute stuff worked out with someone's cat about to be taken to the vet...even the short "tale" I was telling was too long for that songs text...
