The Lyrics

This deals with the strangest thing I've ever seen at any Politicsl Convention -- a duet of an 55 year old hippie protest song performed by a 75 year old guitarist (Steven Stills) and a gay black man outfitted like the evil queen in the Snow White story
Theres something happening hete
What it is aint exactly clear
Thete's a stiff on guitar over there
A telling me, his judgment's impaired
I think its time you stopped
Liberals what's this sound
Dem convention is beclowned

There's racial lines bring drawn
Black folks right, and white males always.wrong
Old hippies warping young minds
Getting so much resistance from Maligned
It's time you stopped
Demos whats this sound
Stills and drag queen do astound*

What a fiasco for the Proggs
Thousands of Normies are agog
a Sending out tweets with a punishing wit
Mostly saying, "What is this crazed sh*t"
Its time you stopped, Hey what's the deal
Dem madness is now revealed

Virtuous signals strike deep
Into your speeches it did creep
It starts now your party will.fade
November time, our wrath will blow you away
Its time you stopped, Dems whats that sound
Stills and Billy do astound
Stop hey with that sound
Dem convention is beclownef
Stop liberals whats the deal
Dem's true face not concealed

*Billy was clearly decked out in ultra flamboyant style

I don't 100% agree with this parody, but I'm giving you 5s anyways because: 1. It's not often that you hear about a member of CSNY playing guitar with a black drag queen, and 2. Unlike some people, I'm a civil guy who doesn't coward out behind an anonymous cabal when people post parodies I don't agree with. Well...my recent parodies may not come off as civil, but they only represent a small fraction of my body of work and are mainly intended as therapy. I hope you understand.

Thanks Dylan, this song played when I was.a kid We and was important to older brothers, so its a real earworm to me. So I have a knack for parodying it. I've done a real good parody called "For What We Require" AKA "Theme Song For Deliverance"

Good to see someone posting something I recognize. That's one way to know you're old, you don't listen to or undertand the new music. Some days I forget to look here, let alone post something. Got a couple ideas in the works, but my notebook must have slipped under the car seat and I can't bend over to find it. I like the way you matched many of the original rhymes. I always found that the mark of an astute parodist.
