The Lyrics

Now, Russkies and Canucks both live near my home
and I know a song 'bout Albania and chrome[1]
which proves, folks, re foreign relations, I know’em.
If McCain croaked I’d captain smooth sailin’
thru’ rough seas on a ship of state buoyant as stone.
Folks, it’s time for Sarah Palin!

What critics insist is “a crock of lies,” my friend,
is merely the meaningless sum of my trend
of making misstatements re things I’ve not kenned
plus a smidgen of harmless truth-veilin’.
A gal’s gotta do what a gal must to win
and it’s time for Sarah Palin!

Tho’ pundits and pols and plain citizens all
by my wide-ranging ignorance oft are appalled,
by the First Lady, Laura, “quick study” I’m called
and that’s hardly her half-hearted hailin’.
You betcha I’m ready to carry the ball,
for it’s time for Sarah Palin!

Moms, Dads, tho’ my daughter’s knocked up, understand,
I still say sex ed should stay in parents’ hand
without meddlin’ from schools or from Parenthood ® (Planned).
It isn’t home sex ed that’s failin’,
but brats who flout Mama’s “Don’t do it!” command.
Folks, it’s time for Sarah Palin.

Maligners are cawin’ and cursin’ this lass,
and showin’ how I’ve behaved like an ass.
As Vice Prez, oh, how I’d love laughin' last
but my borderline chances are ailin’,
as perverse voters now and later amass
sayin’ "time’s up, Sarah Palin!”
[1] Cheers up, Sammy ... if this line seems senseless, ask the Coach. :-)

This is hilarious! ROTFL big time! By the way, I am attending a Halloween costume party tonight, dressed up like Sarah Palin, which required me to straighten my hair, put heavy makeup on, wear costume-prop Palin glasses and wear a ladies' business suit that I got at Goodwill. I look remarkably like Palin! 555!

Thanks, everyone. Andria --- Happy Hallowe'en and have fun, even if one Miss P. in the world is more than enough. :-)

I know that I should be sleeping right now, but I got lots of laughs at the party. The only differences between me and Palin are that I am a natural redhead with extremely thick, naturally curly hair and she has brownish hair that is not dissimilar to that of a musk ox (another incredibly dimwitted and equally hardheaded Alaskan), and that I am quite a bit heavier. (I weigh approximately 170 pounds, but I put on a corset to make me look smaller.). My date was fellow AiR parodist and lifelong Eugene, OR resident Darrell Wilhelm (who has given up due to Dr Music's antics), who dressed up like John McCain in devil's clothes and looked remarkably convincing. We did have a happy Halloween.

Glad you enjoyed the party. I'm sure you and Darrell were a hit as Sarah and John. BTW, under what sobriquet should I look for your AIR entries?

Stan Hall, why did you leave your comment under MY name? At least I think it was you. It wouldn't do any good to look up my parodies, since they weren't really any good, with most of the comments coming from AFW (who really seems to like me), and I am trying to get a hold of Chucky G to get them removed because they are, as I said, not very good. I am sticking to voting, commenting and submitting real lyrics to this site and posting to InThe00s.com despite the fact that people like Al-B and Snozberries are saying bad things about me and my posts.

Brilliant, Stan :-D

Liked the Original Song. Like your parody. Great use of rhyme and inverted phrasing.

Thanks, Patrick and Phil!

Andria -- I left what was indeed my comment under your name thru' carelessness not atypical of me. :-) Actually, I'd intended to begin by addressing you by name in the comment body, but apparently typed your name into the "Your Name" box and hit tab. I am prone to submit stuff--too often, alas, including my parody texts themselves, without a final proofing.

Sorry, I can't stand the woman. And if this parody supports McAin't, then it gets a low score from me in the How Funny category. Pacing is excellent, though.

This is clearly not supportive of palin/mcCain, but it is well done. Reading comprehension problems seem to be disturbingly common around here, especially when it comes to political satire.

Dear PWRNSHOHN -- if _any_ sort of spin can render these lyrics construable as a positive portrait of the Moose Killa from Wasilla then I have failed grievously to communicate. :-)
