Song Parodies -> "Stranded"

Original Song Title:

"Theme from "Branded""

Original Performer:

Alan Alch/Dominic Frontiere

Parody Song Title:

"Stranded"

Parody Written by:

King Of Fuh

The Lyrics

Based on the theme to the 1960's western TV series, Branded, starring Chuck Connors. Many of the lyrics are mine, some have been around as schoolyard drivel since the series came out.
So this one man tried to with all his might
He was finally relieved but
Stranded, stranded on the toilet bowl
What do you do when you're stranded and you can't find the roll?

He was in a stall and he had to go
But then to his surprise was
Stranded, stranded on the toilet bowl
What do you do when you're stranded and you can't find the roll?

To prove you're a man you must wipe with your hand
While you stand in the can - STRANDED!

Hilarious! Brings back lots of memories. I was 13 years old when "Branded" aired, and almost immediately heard lots and lots of parodies of the theme song. Yours brings back lots of memories--thanks a lot for it. :-)

Oh. My. I wrote my own parody, and it is very similar, down to the sturcture of the verses: 1. He forgot to look, before he sat down, Empty roll was all he found.... Stranded.... 2. He called out for help, but no one was there, Or perhaps they didn't care.... Stranded.... 3. Had to get to work before he got canned, So he had to use his hand.... Stranded... You must understand, you might have to use your hand, If you don't....have a roll. Great minds think alike, I suppose, lol! (Mine's available at Noteflight/Crescendo. If you want to hear it played, comment on one of my other songs, since this one is copyrighted, and I don't share the music publically. My folder there is "QuickWillies." It will make sense once you see the folder....

Your version is pretty close to the one I remember: Stranded, stranded on the toilet bowl What do you do when you're stranded, and you can't reach the roll? I added a verse of my own way back then: Stranded, stranded high upon the can What do you do when you're stranded, well you wipe with your hand! Any way you sing it, it's still funny, all these years later. Wonder if Chuck Connors ever heard this parody?

I recently saw an episode of "Stranded" and immediately thought of the theme spoof. When I looked it up, I wound up here. Thanks for the laugh and the memory!
