The Lyrics

Marriage. Nuff said.
Entered matrimony
I can't get a win
Always wrong, nothing can help
if I tried, that'd be a sin
Wanna get a bowl out
Just to have some Chex
Another somethin' she's assertin'
Those bowls are just for guests
And I say… (uh huh... Okay)
And I say... (Uh huh... Okay)
I can swallow the sadness
Watch The Voice instead of sports
When commercials flash, to the john I dash
I can check those football scores

Chorus: yes you're right, I just assume you're right
yes you're right, I just assume you're right
yes you're right, I just assume you're right
yes you're right, I just assume you're right
yes you're right, I just assume you're right
yes you're right, I just assume you're right
I might draw the line when she takes my rights away
No, you're right, don't need a poker night

Verse 2: you just pile it on me
Fine we need doilies!
To put underneath all that we keep
Such as cutlery
"Never a dull moment"
Well that is what they say
And I won't forgive myself or anyone else
For missing golf on all week days
Now all I say... (Uh huh... Okay)
All I say... (Uh huh... Okay)
Yeah, we share a life, mine is yours my dear
Then why does it seem to only be my tears?
But oh yes, you're right, I just assume you're right
And I won't survive, if I wear a tie today

Uh huh... Okay
Uh huh... Okay
Uh huh... Okay (yes you're right, I just assume you're right)
Uh huh... Okay (yes you're right, I just assume you're right)
Uh huh... Okay (yes you're right, I just assume you're right)
Uh huh... Okay (yes you're right, I just assume you're right)

Verse 3: no, I gotta fight, this cannot go down
For I could also speak just like I am right now
"Oh, yes you're right, I just assume you're right"
I just can't survive, if you take my fight away
When we said our vows, both our lives were bounds
For we will always be the finest pair in town
In our lives can't we both be right?
Think we might survive, if you said I'm right some days
But I know I'm right, but you're my wife I'm here to stay
Now you've changed my life, because you said I'm right today!

Something way different than the normal Gotye songs that I'm used to. It's a very fun original song and a pretty awesome parody to go with it!

I'm right because I said so, just take my word for it ;)

(Artistry) This may just be me, but the wife in this parody didn't really come off as unreasonable to me. Maybe if there were more examples that also weren't written so vague that one could easily make counter-arguments (separate dishes for guests? How dare she want to make a good impression? Watching The Voice instead of sports? Well, how dare she have her own interests! The husband misses weekend golf? How is that her fault exactly?). Actually, now that I think about it, you also could've tweaked a few lines here and there to make a parody about a husband who thinks his wife is a nagging shrew when in reality he's just a lazy douchebag. Just my own opinion here, of course, but as is, this parody is perfectly paced but narratively lacking.

I feel that one, boyoboy.

I was actually thinking the same thing, bobpiecheese. Nothing too unreasonable from the Mrs. And after listening to this song, I'll have to listen to some different Gotye songs, because this one was pretty catchy! Overall, this parody was really fun...every guy can relate to this to some extant. And I know that arguments aren't supposed to have a "winner" and a "loser", but it does feel pretty good when you get a "win" every once and a while haha. Well done!
