The Lyrics

This parody pretty much sums up the Civil Rights Movement. Enjoy, like, and comment, especially if you’re a US history teacher lol. NOTE: this parody is not meant to hurt, offend, or be used as a racial insult by ANY means possible!!
Rosa Parks she stood up right there on that city bus
She ain’t goin’ give up her seat
The driver informed her “you must go to the back ma’am”
Your kind’s not wanted in the front

But she kept her ground, with the Whites all ‘round
Oh lord, they kicked her off of that bus oh
Whoa oh oh (her off of that bus)
Whoa oh oh (her off of that bus)
Civil rights we all know evermore
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh

Drinking fountains, bathrooms too - why did they have separate queues?
Why didn’t they equalize racial rights already?
Jim Crow was such one to ignore the gripe
Shake hands with the blacks and whites
Blacks try twice as hard and they’re semi-liked
But here come those darned whites to smash the style

It ain’t right (it ain’t right)
I found MLK in my bed tonight
He tells us all “I Have A Dream” and “let freedom ring, freedom ring, freedom ring”
Yeah, freedom ring Mmm… Mmm…

Well, Malcolm X lead his peeps to a new dawn
‘Cause they must fight for rights for a change
And Malcolm was killed by an assassination
In 1965 after visiting Selma, Selma

But she kept her ground, with the Whites all ‘round
Oh lord, they kicked her off of that bus oh
Whoa oh oh (her off of that bus)
Whoa oh oh (her off of that bus)
Civil rights we all know evermore… (oh, poor Rosa)

So that was it?
She took public transportation for this?
Bought a bus token right now for this?
Gave her seat to a White man for this?

(Not cool)

No. When I hear Martin Luther King Jr, when I hear
When I hear Martin Luther King Jr, I see him sooner
When I see “colored” signs, they just gotta try, civil rights
Civil Rights, Civil Rights, Civil Rights

Yup, this is it guys, Black Lives Matter
Forty years and it you see it again
Many years of this, I'm not sure if the Whites understand
This one is for everyone at home
We have to leave, mom, we have to go
Who the fuck wants to die alone being lynched by some White bastards?

My heart is beating for MLK and the freedom he let us ring
When I look into John Lewis’s eyes
Man, you wouldn't believe the most amazing things that can come from...
The Civil Rights... ah...

Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh,
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh

The other day you wouldn’t believe the signs were gone and races free
We jumped for joy and both agreed

It’s for the best we have our rights
It’s for the best both black and white… Oh…
It’s for the best we have our rights
It’s for the best both black and white… Oh…

Not an easy song to work with. The original video is basically a Civil War reenactment. We still live in a society where judging people by the color of their skin or their private sex attractions is not only fashionable, but virtually required. Dr King would be most unhappy. It's past time to stop identifying people by so-called "race" and keep census records only by citizenship. It's getting much harder to differentiate anyway, and only stirs up trouble.

Quite an effort. This is obviously something near and dear to your heart. I cant imagine how any Amiright reader could find anything you've written to be offensive

I can't see why some people are offended by the images of Uncle Ben and Aunt Jemima. Two talented Black people who achieved good things in the art of making and cooking food. But some folks look forward to being offended. Too bad sensible folk still listen to them.
