The Lyrics

This is a parody pertaining to the hobby of urban exploration. Urban exploration, or urbex involves exploring abandoned places and anywhere usually off limits. In doing this hobby, torches are normally a neccessity, hence the title "Imitation of Light."
Maglites, head torches,
massive lamps, used on an urbex,
Imitation of light.
For a late night in an old asylum,
Squeezing through a tiny hole.
You want to see that shine.

That wreckage can trip one up good.
Watch out for gaps in rotten wood.
C'mon, c'mon we got to use that shine.

You want the greatest thing
The greatest thing since solar light.
You've got it all in D cell size.
Like that fat night security guard,
Lazing round the corner
Trying to look like he does try.

That wreckage can trip one up good.
Watch out for gaps in rotten wood.
C'mon, c'mon we got to use that shine.

We want to see that shine.

That wreckage can trip one up good.
That freezing drain, that's full of crud.
C'mon, c'mon we want to see you shine.

This wreckage,
This lemonade
This storm drain, I'm not afraid.
C'mon, c'mon we want to use that shine.

This storm drain,
This darkened cave
With decent light, I'm not afraid.
C'mon, c'mon we got to use that shine.

That wreckage can trip one up good
That freezing drain, that's full of crud
C'mon, c'mon we want to see that shine.

That wreckage can trip one up good
That freezing drain, that's full of crud
C'mon, c'mon we want to see that shine.

Makes about as much sense as any REM song (without an explanation), but 555 because it's Friday and I feel generous.

"That wreckage can trip one up good." was a nice sneaking in of your name;) I got a little lost, but you made up for it with clever word play.
