Original Song Title:

"Mr. Mom"

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Mr. Mom??"

Parody Written by:

Mike Armstrong

The Lyrics

A bit of a "different" take on the idea of Mr. Mom... given from the view of a 10 year old boy. ENJOY!
Off the bus come on in
Got a hug and a kiss from my dad Ken, he said...
You can go outside until your momma comes on home. I thought...

This goes against the grain
Somehow I cannot explain
Other kids have Pam and Jane
And my dad's named JEROME

WELL
Parents met in a same sex bar and
They dress up like Judy Garland
We watch Queer Eye and we like it too
Dame Edna, Too Wong Foo
There's dvd sets of Will and Grace
Barbara Streisand in m'CD case
This seems to be all wrong...
I'm living with dad and Mr. Mom.

Football starts but I think "what?"
Why dad talks bout Brett Favre's butt, and there's...
Those Wednesday nights when we play dress up and I lose

How much pink can one kid wear
I make the boys all stop and stare
The chicks all dig my styled hair
Man am I confused!!

YEAH
Parents met in a same sex bar and
They dress up like Judy Garland
We watch Queer Eye and we like it too
Dame Edna, Too Wong Foo
There's dvd sets of Will and Grace
Barbara Streisand in m'CD case
This seems to be all wrong...
I'm living with dad and Mr. Mom.

Before I come inside today
Get my dad to stash his Perrier
I'll ask my dad just "why theeeee hey..."

MY
Parents met in a same sex bar and
They dress up like Judy Garland
We watch Queer Eye and we like it too
Dame Edna, Too Wong Foo
There's dvd sets of Will and Grace
Barbara Streisand in m'CD case
This seems to be all wrong... WHOOOAAAAAA
This seems to be SO wrong
I'm living with dad and Mr. Mom.

Lookin' so great and stylin' my look
Mad I have got great parents
But maybe just maybe I mistook
When I met "Uncle CLEARENCE"

"daddy, what does Zhush mean?"

(SOTM) DKTOS, Mike...but a fun, off-the-wall parody nonetheless

(SOTM) What Kristof said. Sorry DKTOS.

(SOTM) DKTOS but that doesn't take away from the message...poor confused little kid.

Well, I believe that it's a bit of an anomaly to actually believe that there could be such a thing as normality, so... :-)

I've been trying to listen to more country, and I gotta tell ya, it's painful. So much of it is cloying, like this one with its straight-out-of-1954 message: "Wow, being a housewife is tough - I'm not sure how you gals do it." So I've considered parodying it too. But where are my manners? - this is about YOU, not ME. So. Your chorus is grrreat. So great, in fact, that I wish you woulda treated us with a few more. But nice work, M&A. Fun stuff.

SOTM--this is hilarious! The original is, like all Lonestar songs, sadly overplayed and on my black list...but I'll giggle every time I hear it from now on...=)

sotm - hilarious premise - would have loved it if you'd varied the choruses - esp. because I loved all your detail - 555

Well done. A lot of good lines, particularly the one about Brett Favre.

Didn't know the original but I was curious enough to look up the lyrics. Very funny take; I too liked the Brett Favre line and the chorus.

This one was a riot, M&A. I have a friend in this situation. I like parodies that are slightly exaggerated but realistic all the same.
Fave bits:
"Those Wednesday nights when we play dress up and I lose" and "We watch Queer Eye and we like it too"
