The Lyrics

Here's one for my fellow Star Trek fans....
I see that harried look upon your face
You've got your Tribbles, I've got mine
Sheesh, looks like they're all over the place
You've got your Tribbles, I've got mine

I've lost control of my ship today
All of my officers have gone astray

Now just like you I sit and wonder why
You've got your Tribbles, I've got mine
You need to call Starfleet, well so do I
You've got your Tribbles, I've got mine

I used to love them, that I know
And it don't seem so long ago
That they were adorable
Now they're deplorable
And they constantly reproduce!

------ instrumental break ------

I've lost control of my ship today
All of my officers have gone astray

And so forgive me if I seem I've flipped
You've got your Tribbles, I've got mine
But I'm going to beam them to the Klingon ship
They'll have your Tribbles, they'll have mine
They'll have your Tribbles, they'll have mine
They'll have your Tribbles, they'll have mi-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-ine

This parody is logical but quite irregular. The throng that pesters.

Michael Mc - Well, I had no tribble with this one. I was probably thinking of, oh, I think it was "Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders" version. But it fits that for pace and having seen the original "Tribble" episode you certainly captured the plot. Good job.

LOL, I love it. That's my favourite episode in the original series. Good idea, changing "troubles" for "tribbles"!

Captain's Log, Stardate 2003.1223. Award Ensign McVey a commendation. It's not every day that a rookie does the same song on the same day as Guy (Harry Mudd) DiRito, and beats him!

Captain Pacholek, I am happy I beamed to this place. There seems to be a lot of intelligent life here. I'm glad the life-forms here are enjoying the Tribble song. I dream of a time some of you will get to see me on stage performing it. Thanks for your commendation, it meant a lot to me. MM

Yeah, what Mike said. Well done. This thing deserves more votes. C'mon folks, no trekkies out there?

Okay, I admit it. I'm in. There was an episode of Deep Space Nine where the crew goes back in time to Kirk's tribble episode and "interacts" with that the plot and characters of that show. This causes Worf to have to not explain why Klingons looked so different back then. They also put Sisco in a scene at the end, replacing the cute yeoman that was originally there. This makes Kirk's lustful glance very funny.

Good job!

Good parody. It appears that most of the impact derives from substituting one word, and, not being a Trekkie, I would have like to see an additional source of humor.

Funny+set to country music thats Original, for a trekkie tune. I saw this original Star Trek episode way back when--It's one of my faves! Great Job! MM

Hailing frequencies are open--another Trekker checking in. Cute, very cute! Good choice of original song.

(ABC) Ditto from before. Funny how I haven't heard this OS at all yet, but still this gives me a giggle every time I read it (Buck Owens has a very same-y quality to his tunes).

(ABC3Y) don't know about those Tribbles, but as Spaff said, it's an ideal OS to use (given the troubles/tribbles sub) and very well written - 555

ABC...I'm assuming I might understand this better if I'd ever watched even ONE episode of Star Trek? =( Sadness. Nicely paced, though...I can at least give you that...

ABC- Very cute little ditty. Just like the Ewoks from Star Wars, I always found the Tribbles to be adorable. Good work.

VERY well done! 5-5-5! I just forwarded this to Bjo...and I hope to hear it at the next convention filksing....(Has anybody sent it to David Gerrold...the writer of that episode?) "You've got your Trimbles, I've got mine!"
